Yes, The silk wrapped has a more mellow sound.

Q: are these nickel plated?

I do not believe the strings are nickel plated. You might check with Martin for that info.

Q: Is this for a 12 strings guitar? Can I use this for a regular 6 strings guitar? Asking this, because the package says “12 strings”

This if for a 12 String guitar. If you have a 6 string guitar simply buy 6 strings - cheaper and exactly what you want.
