Batman: The Demon Trilogy Hardcover – 22 September 2020

This collects the original stories, BUT it's not collected in its exact magazine size. I have one of the original Hardcovers, and when I compared them, they had the same width but not hight. The new version is slightly shorter, which is a bit disappointing. DC can do magazine sizes as they did with Batman Dammed, Harleen, and that God awful superman year one story. They even released "Joker: killer smile" in true magazine format. DC is weird sometimes...

This is a great collection of stories presented in an oversized magazine format. The only thing you are going to have to decide on, is this.... is a 300 page book, great stories or not, worth paying a hundred bucks for.I will say this, the book is very well made. Nice thick glossy pages. It is a gorgeous book. The cover art underneath dust jacket blew me away. Glued binding though. Sewn binding isnt really needed for a book this big, but considering it's a hundred bucks, I would expect it to be sewn binding. But that's a minor gripe.All three stories collected here are very well done. Son of the demon is my personal favorite. It def has a james bond kinda feel to it. Bride of the demon is the weakest of the three. But it's still a great story. I really liked how it really showed batman use his detective skills in this one. Both of these stories were written by the same guy. The third on the other hand, birth of the demon, was written by another writer. The original creator of ras al ghul. And it's great. It has batman in it, but make no mistake, this is very much a ras al ghul story. Very well done. My only problem? This writer either didnt care or couldnt be bothered to read the previous 2 stories, and showed no respect to continuity. It's still a great story, but that stuff bugs me.All in all, it's a great collection of stories that really show cases the dynamic between ras and the detective. I do think its overpriced, but I rather enjoyed this book and dont regret buying it. Let's put it this way, I have bought 800 page books for less that this. If you find it for cheap? Jump on it. At full price? I will leave that choice up to you.

Als Comic fand ich "The Demon Trilogie" eher mittelmäßig und sie würde nicht meine erste Empfehlung an Batman Neulinge darstellen.Trotzdem gebe ich dem Buch sehr gerne 4 Sterne (und nicht etwa nur 3 oder 2), da dieser Graphic Novel die erste Batman Graphic Novel war, die als solche geplant und veröffentlicht wurde. Damit wurde neuer Weg eröffnet Batman zu denken. Des Weiteren wird hier gezeigt, wie Damien Wayne entstanden ist und auch das finde ich großartig, da Damien meiner Meinung nach der beste Robin ist.
