Its squirrel proof only.
First off,-This feeder doesn't claim to be starling proof! This is a sturdy cage feeder & is squirrel proof, but what about magpies? or other large birds? What I do with all my feeders is to wrap fine mesh chicken wire around cage, & cut holes here & there away from the feeding openings,-to let the little birds in & that works fine. It never occurs to the makers to make the whole outer diameter wider,-this would solve all the problems. Magpies are fiendishly clever!

At last a bird feeder that does defeat the squirrels
I have purchased many feeders that claim they are squirrelproof feeders - this one really does work, they can't seem to find a way in!!

NOT STARLING PROOF
A really sturdy product but I read reviews that said keeps the starlings away, NO IT DOES NOT. I know it says squirrel proof but the pictures show only small birds can get into the outer cage, well that is true but the starlings can still reach the food. Really good buy if your not bothered what birds can use it.

Squirrels (and rats!) cannot reach the bird food.
Birds take a little while to work out how to get to the food but they keep trying and are learning what they need to do!
