In the summer of 2015, Cobham will release a live CD recording from last years' celebrated Spectrum 40 tours, which dazzled audiences around the world in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Spectrum CD, the defining album of the jazz-fusion genre. Ever since his breakthrough in the early 1970s-as a founding member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and as a drummer/leader whose recordings (such as Spectrum) and powerful, complex style of play exerted a strong influence on the course of jazz and jazz-fusion-Billy Cobham has remained a tireless musical explorer.

Great service and timely.FYI: THIS IS A GREAT CD AND GREAT SHOW.I SAW HIS RECENT CROSSWINDS CONCERT AND IT WAS NOT AS THRILLING AS THIS SHOW. CALL ME JADED BUT IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN, STICK WITH THE ORIGINAL CROSSWINDS CD. A TRUE MASTERPIECE!

This album is hard to find, but it's amazing. Billy Cobham is a brilliant drummer. He is accompanied by excellent musicians. Great solos and improvisation. Great drum sound. The overall sound of the album is perfect. My maximum recommendation. Craig Bishop desrves a gold statue.

Saw the live show on Sept. 15, 2015 at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. This CD set is very close to that amazing live show. What is good about the CD is that one can hear what each individual band member is playing better than in the live theater setting. Great show!

Old billy can still bang a drum, & this live 2cd set is clear evidence billy can still do his stuff. Good choice out of his swelling catalog of jazz fusion. I Thought Dean brown was not in the premier league of jazz rock guitarist,s( just my opinion) but to be fare he does a decent job and it works well on this live set. Sound quality on this recording is very good & if you own a quality hi- fi you will really enjoy this live set. If you don,t you,ll still be in for a treat if your a cobham fan. Fully recommended, enjoy!!!
