My daughter thinks these cards are great and incredibly helpful. She takes them to school and uses them at breaktime with her friends, to practice for tests.

Very useful indeed.When teaching I was always impressed with the CGP guides, which make subjects less intimidating and easier to access for many learning styles and levels. They are also affordable.These study or revision cards are as good as I had hoped, probably better.They are intended to be used alongside the Edexel exam coverage although they will also cover much of any of the other exam boards. Ideally I would suggest getting the same exam board as the student is studying.The information in the original listing explains clearly the content of the cards and suggested ways to use them, so this review is focused on how useful I think they really are.In one word - very!In simple terms these cards have areas of study and questions on one side, answers and tips on the other.Some suggest using them at the end of the key stage just before the exams. Personally I would recommend using the cards right through the key stage, as a simple way to consolidate learning. For example, at the end of the key topic of chemical equations, have a quick revision of the main points using the study cards.Then come back to it after a few weeks and refresh your memory and learning.When the topic reappears throughout the subject you can easily and quickly remind yourself of the basics.So much easier than trying to cram it all in just before the exam.The cards are sturdy, as is the box they sit in, and don't take up much space. My eldest daughter has already been using CGP Physics card for revision finds them really useful, so I got these CGP Chemistry ones as well to help with her Chemistry.This particular set is for the EDEXEL COMBINED Chemistry exam. You'll need to look carefully to see which exam group and level each set is designed for to ensure you get the correct one.The cards are very well presented, with a few easier questions then harder ones below on one side, answers appear on the other side, so it's easy to either test yourself by facing the answers down and turning them over or to get someone else to show you the card while looking at the answers (good for people like me who did their science many moons ago!).The cards are well laid out with colour coded areas;ON THE FRONT- The orange header shows the direct subject The green box on the right corner shows the subject Topic area, which links directly in to the CGP study guides should you need to know more.- The coloured box below this gives some quick questions which you can use to warm up or just use these for a quick fire style approach across several cards- The white area gives more in-depth questions.ON THE BACK- All the answers are clearly written on the back- A pink box gives handy tips for each subject areaI really recommend these to anyone looking to take science exams or tests in the next few years.
