Q: I am thinking of getting this for my brother who lives on the 30th floor in an apartment in NYC, will this still work?

Mine has never worked and my sister also has one--hers does not work either. The theory is interesting but it seems that is all it is --a theory.

Q: I'd like to get this for my office but my office doesn't have a window and is climate controlled. Does this need to be near a window?

I put it inside for a week and it always said that the weather was clear and calm even if it was raining outside. I put it outside and it accurately shows the weather, so I'd say it not only needs to be near a window but probably an open window at least, if not outside.

Q: What are the chemical ingredients of the solution? My cat knocked it off the bookcase, it broke and left a white stain on the hardwood floor.

Mine fell and broke too, but it was on a white tile floor and cleaned up well. I don't know what ingredients are or whether or not they would damage a hardwood floor.

Q: Does this work for winter weather as well?
