I only had 8gb of RAM in my older HP A6-2317 PC (12 years old), but it was working pretty good (but slow), but since it had 3 empty memory slots, I decided to get a 4 pack of these 8gbRAM sticks which maxes it out at 32gb. Don't ask me what took me 10 years to upgrade it, but probably because back then, RAM was like $50+ a stick, but I got 4 for less than that. If you can plug in a lamp, you can install this RAM since there is nothing more than inserting them into their slots. You must unplug your computer, push the power button to expend all power after you unplug and slap it in and you're done!I took the one RAM stick out since they're not the same and after I put this RAM in, I raised the clock on my APU by only 5% and it's working faster than ever. It will never be faster than the processor allows, so even if it held more RAM, the processor could not utilize it. In addition, DDR3 can't hold a candle to DDR4, but I sure wasn't bad when it came out and we were all grateful to get it! It doesn't play games well (neither do I), but for email, information, and Excel it's great!But I must say, it sure works fast to be a decade old. When I got it, the 10 year old units prior it were incredibly slow, but it has not aged as bad as those really old ones did, so I should get many more years out of it, while I use my laptop for most things that is new. Fact, it's so new it's in the mail on the way! It gave me time to play with this old thing while I wait for my new one.I've always heard that RAM of the same kind is always best, at least it can't hurt. At these prices now, you might as well get as many as you need so they match. Same as buying tires I guess, it just makes sense. You can sell the ones you are replacing.

I like the fact that the RAM memory works great and since the installation of the memory, my computer runs better, and with less congestion.

I ordered these DIMMs, then panicked when I didn't see they would be compatible with a Dell Optiplex 3040. So I searched and saw that A-TECH modules were listed for the Optiplex 3040, and that order arrived first. The A-TECH modules didn't work, and were much more expensive. Fearing the worse, these DIMMs came in today:And they work perfectly!

This RAM says it's rated for 1.35-1.5 volts. However, initially I was having instability and crashes at my motherboard's default voltage, which is at the low end of that range. After some tweaking in my BIOS settings, I found that once I raised the voltage to 1.425V everything is running smoothly. It's not a huge deal but maybe something not every user will be comfortable messing with. All that said, this is a lot of memory for the price.

Easy to install but had trouble getting the computer to boot. Spent several hours but did get the computer to boot and memory working well.

I upgraded both of my Dell computers...home and office with this easy upgrade. Only small surprise is when installing you have to push down fairly hard to get it to click totally into place. Once clicked into place, simply turn on...automatically starts using faster RAM.... This upgrade means a few or several more years with this 5 year old computer...fast once again.

Worked perfect!

A few weeks after installing this memory my computer started getting fatal errors. it took me a full week to figure out what it was. The computer couldn't recover from the last fatal error so I check the memory. It worked fine with just one in. When I switched the two out, it wouldn't boot at all. It was only a week or so out of the 20 day return policy. I tried calling the number and leaving a message but they never responded. I also emailed the address given on the recorded greeting but that was returned as an invalid address. So I am working on 8 GB now, instead of the 16 I paid for. Next time I'll use another vendor.

Double the ram means my computer runs faster. Arrived safely and worked right away.

Great upgrade for any older PC. I used it in a Dell Optiplex 3020 to get 16GB out of the only two memory slots it has. Tested it gaming for a few hours. Many of the 'gaming ram with heatsinks defaults to slower 1333MHz in the OEM systems as they are usually XMP overclocked and these systems don't have that option).This ram runs at 1600MHz in the Dell.The sticks I received were 2Rx4 (fewer chips), however, it does not affect performance whatsoever. In fact, I tested it against Samsung 2Rx8 with same specifications and it was 1.5% faster.
