Arrived in non-manufacturer packaging, in a kitchen zip-lock bag. Very unstable, will not sit on counter in a stable manner at all. Just plain unusable and cheaply made. Unbelievably light-weight. No one could use this item. However, I will still have to re-package and take to a UPS store or Whole Foods to return -and THEN might get a refund 7 days after arrival at wherever this thing came from. Unusual to get something of this poor quality through Amazon.

Well made, easily took the stain. I wood burned it and stained the design ; it's beautiful!

The only reason gave it 3 stats is because this was the only traditional slot style knife block with wide enough slots to accept a 3.5 inch wide Chinese cleaver/slicer.It arrived slightly marred, because it is made of some really soft pine wood.It’s saving grace was that there was no pitch or glue oozing out of it.the wood is sanded smooth, but there is no lacquer or finish applied to it.I would have paid more for the same design made of harder wood: e. g. rubber wood would have been a relatively cheap option.

I should know by now not to buy the cheapest product available. This is made of something like plywood, and is extremely lightweight. It’s attractive and doesn't take a lot of space, but once I put my knives in it, it tends to fall over.

This is not weighted and will easily fall over. If you can work with that, it’s all right. I need it to be sturdier. Feels like it hollow, or something, even pine wood should be heavier.
