Moissanite is only a tiny fraction lighter than diamonds. Cubic zirconia on the other hand is 2 times heavier than a diamond and significantly cheaper than both moissanite and diamond in every aspect. CZ is basically a plastic toy. Moissanite is a well respected gemstone with superior traits matching very closely to diamonds. Its most praised trait is that it has a brilliance that actually surpasses that of a diamond. The only drawback of moissanite is that it is barely a little under the durability of a diamond in hardness (9.25 Mohs scale, a very high score, as opposed to 10 Mohs scale, an exceptional score). It is flawless from carbon specks.. but in certain light has a slight yellow color. If you research mossanite it explains a lot. It has more fire and brilliance then a diamond.
