Good recorder, but no backlight.
All the features work well as with previous Olympus models. Unfortunately, Olympus chose to cut cost and eliminate the.backlight from the display. Even in moderate light it's a bit hard to read the display even after adjusting the contrast. (It helps to adjust it lower) At first, I thought it was defective but it going through the manual, no mention of a backlight is ever given. On the plus side it does have decent noise reduction and a mode to enhance voice. It also has low cut filter, ability to divide files, record in stereo, and a lot of other features. It will also recharge the included 2 AAA batteries within the unit. It does bug me that you can't see the darn display in lower light though. (Thus the 4 rather than 5 star rating)
