I thought and thought on buying this for several weeks after MULTIPLE attempts to get another softener from a large US retailer whose name will remain unmentioned( but it starts with SAM) shipped to me in one piece. It literally arrived in multiple pieces TWICE. Anyway, I knew fleck was a good name and parts are readily available (but i doubt you'll need them for a long time). This unit was purchased for my mom, replacing a 30 year old FLECK unit that was no longer repairable. This unit is GREAT. Went in like a dream, works great, CAME IN ONE PIECE, and when I did have a quick question on the install they answered immediately. GREAT experience all the way around. I will be buying another for myself once I save up the bucks as mine is pushing 30 years. I live in the country, on a well, and it's the old 'run on a schedule whether you need it or not'. This new one with the ondemand regen AND the manual valve I'm sure will last me as long as I need it to. Great product,great supplier... can't go wrong. Don't buy a cheaper one from the big box store... you'll regret it in short order

It took me a while to actually get this plumbed in but once I did the difference was noticable immediately! The hard water stains are coming off the sink and showers! I'm so excited.Cons. This DOES REQUIRE ELECTRIC. I bought this because it said it's not an electric control head but you still have to plug it in for it to turn on the back wash. Maybe leaving they need to show an electric cord in the photos on Amazon and they don't.

My pre-install water hardness went from 20+ to 0 after install. We live in Nebraska, for reference sake, I guess? It went super smooth and I'm not a plumber. Watch videos on YouTube, plan it out and you'll be just fine. *This review is coming from a scatterbrain who over-researches(if that's a thing) and still will make 13 trips to home depot anyway. To be fair, I was running new water lines throughput the 100 year old house at the same time. If you're looking at this softener, BUY IT! :)I'm very happy with this water softener

The actual instal was easy. I had to do a great deal of soldering and adding pipes but if I had a pre plumbed setup like most people have it would literally only have taken less than an hour to install. It does it's job fine but I hate the taste and feel of softened water so the flavor rating is only because it tastes as it's supposed to. This was a $1900 savings over getting a local business to install their equipment. Great deal if you have skills.

This replaced part of a 20 year old rainsoft system. You will need some experience with plumbing to do this yourself. Comes with almost everything you need. You will need a drain tube which is mentioned in the directions. Also need to know your water hardness to set the dial on the fleck meter. I like the simplicity of the mechanical meter better than the digital ones.

Love it, made dealing with well water and changing to a tankless water heater much better. Easy to install and set up in a Rubbermaid shed for protection from the elements.
