High quality reproduction of the famous Bust of Marie-Antoinette made in 1783 by French sculptor Felix Lecomte. Félix Lecomte (1737, Paris - 1817, Paris) was a French sculptor in the second half of the eighteenth century. In 1758 he won the Prix de Rome scholarship in sculpture and attended class in Rome from 1761 to 1768. His bust of Marie-Antoinette was made in Carrara marble and is currently on display at the Palace of Versailles. Marie Antoinette (1755-1793), born an archduchess of Austria, was Dauphine of France from 1770 to 1774 and Queen of France and Navarre from 1774 to 1792. Eight months after her husband Louis XVI's execution, Marie Antoinette was tried, convicted by the Convention for treason to the principles of the revolution, and executed by guillotine on 16 October 1793.
