Superman Unchained

First Superman story and it was peak fiction.Book came in perfect condition and packaged well

Lovely. Probably needed a longer script: more exposition, more subtlety introducing Superman's enemy, etc. Supes lets Snyder speak in a way that the Bat won't, and Lee lets him soar where Capullo keeps him grounded. If anything, this book proves 1) Superman is more intellectual than the Republican lackey he can be portrayed as, 2) Lee and Snyder are each the best at what they do, and/but 3) Snyder and Capullo are the perfect pair, the Lennon and McCartney, the Difford and Tilbrook, the Shakespeare and the Sandman. This book is so great, so beautiful and so ambitious, but nothing lands like Snyder's stories on Capullo's visions.

Jim Lee's artwork in this book struck me as needlessly complicated and even confusing. Yet his depictions of Superman, with a couple of exceptions, seemed hasty and over-simplified. The narrative was like watching a tennis match played back at high speed. Yes, it's all subjective. I don't mean to pontificate. And I liked it enough to make a custom figure of Wraith (Doomsday Jr.) from a Wildcats Maul, a good Jim Lee base figure.

the book is good bot the action takes a while to get there and in some parts is a little unrealistic. like if superman where to use his real power he could pretty much finish the plot of this book in no time. it's still a great adventure worth the read.

Read it before just needed to own it.

Superman unchained is an excellent piece of art work an amazing duo of Jim Lee and Scott synder. For start to finished i couldn't put it down. I was on the toilet for over an over and I only wanted a sit down wee. Now I've read I'm considering framing it, I'm not even joking Jim Lee is an excellent artist his artwork you can see superman strength. I am a fan of Jim Lee so this review may be bias but it's still a good read and the art work is jaw dropping.

So I was really looking forward to this book since I've been into Superman lately and.. I'm honestly underwhelmed by this. The story has a very lame ending which is a shame because Wraith was a very interesting rival to supes, he was different compared to most comic book villains although the name wraith isn't original at all. But the plot goes all over the place, this book has pacing issues. Highlights would be the Dubai fight, Wraith and Batman. Also, around 1/4 of the book is just cover art, not story, again I'm disappointed because this is just to extend the length of the book and charge me more for it.

Great story and fantastic art. Probably best Superman New 52 story. Must buy for Superman fans.
