Its to be Expected but... This Light is Very Bright
I bought this to upgrade my small plant growing operation (from the 1000 version of this same light) and its a considerable upgrade in brightness. Arrived in perfect condition and I am now using it to help grow a few pea plants, tomatoes, hot peppers, onions, and even a few flowers. At a height of about 24 inches I managed to have ample light to grow plants in a area under it about 4 feet long and about 2.5-3 feet wide. Managed to fit a lot of nursing pots under it. This unit does get hot, and the area under it will also warm up due to the amount of radiated heat both from the light and the unit itself. You might have to get a dead bug off it every so often due to the high heat, they get attracted to the light, they land on the top, and they cook. Its not enough heat to make me worry about fires or anything, just be sure to let it cool before moving it, as any more than 5-10 seconds of handling it while hot is very uncomfortable. BE CAREFUL IF YOU INTEND TO HANG THIS IN A TENT LIKE OTHER REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED. This does develop enough heat that I would be worried if it wasn't in an open air environment, or aided by the help of a small fan. With the heat this light puts out you can probably use a basement as a base for plants that require higher temperatures to germinate and grow. My basement ambient temperature is usually in the mid to low 60's and with the light on and at full brightness 24 inches above the thermometer it managed to keep the area under it in the mid 70's and when put 12 inches away that rose to 80-85. While that was probably due to the direct light rather than the ambient temp it let my Jalapeno, Italian Pepperoncini, Big Thai Hybrid, and Anaheim Chili plants grow fairly well alongside my other plants. Will probably modify my review if anything changes.

Great Lights
I now have 3 of these lights, and I use them for veggie starts in late winter/early spring, and for starting trees and shrubs from seed year round. They are very well made and durable, bright enough to actually burn leaves if you let the plant grow too close to the diodes, and a great value for the money.Anyone from a serious grower to casual gardener will love these. The only two words of caution: put a timer on them, and make sure you adjust the brightness appropriate to what you are growing and to its lifecycle stage. You don't want them running 24/7, and if they are set too bright or too dim, they can actually hamper the growth of your plants at certain stages. Sorry, third word of caution: they generate a good amount of heat, so either closely monitor the temperature of the space you are using, or make sure it isn't enclosed and can ventilate freely. A plastic covered shelf "greenhouse" will cook your plants with these lights if you completely close up the plastic.

Very Bright
Very satisfied with this light. A piece was missing from the box but their customer service team and response time was excellent. I would definitely buy from them again. I only gave timer function one star because this product does not have a timer function that I know of. But the brightness is incredible. My plants (young tomatoes, jalapenos, poblanos, red and orange bell and a variety of super hot peppers) are responding very well to this light and only at 50% power.

Great Light at a Decent Price: P2000 vs FL2000
The FL2000 is a great light and you can't go wrong with. The construction is fantastic and finish is very slick. It has a dimmer but I use mine at the maximum setting about 15 inches from my plants. This is almost identical to a Vipar P2000. Both are around the same price. The FL2000 has a wider coverage so is slightly less lumen than the P2000. The area with LED is about 2" wider in both length and width. I think both has the same amount of LED but the P2000 has it more concentrated in a smaller early. If you want to cover a slightly larger area then get the FL2000 but if you want to cover a smaller area with brighter light then get the P2000.

So far so good
My 1000 watt mh finally bit the dust in my veg room. I felt comfortable switching to these fl2000s. What sold me was the price point and the fact that you can piggy back 4 together. I am seeing great relults in vegetative growth. And im still 200 watts less than with my 1000w mh. I am very happy with the temps of the lights running at 100%, they are cool to the touch. Unlike my my bloom plus4000 which can not be touched while in operation however that being said bp4000 is an amazing flower light. I hope the longevity of these fl2000 lights last a long time. Cheers

Wow. Bright as the sun!
I upgraded my 2 x 4 tent with this light, replacing 2 separate 1000 watt LED lights. It’s very solid, it’s heavy and the dimmer is a great feature. I got it here for $98.00, and now it’s going for $147.00. Not sure why.
