Marilyn Monroe: Unseen Archives

I'm not an avid book reader, and I already pretty much knew the story of Marilyn, so I wasn't looking for a book to read. I wanted a book that told her story mostly through pictures, and that's exactly what this book does. Most of the reading in this book is simply the detailed captions that go with each picture. The book itself is basically chronological, and then there is a streamlined chronology of Marilyn's life at the end. If you want to read a detailed, warts-and-all book about Marilyn, this isn't the one you should get (although it does deal with Marilyn's numerous problems). There are a hundred or more tell-all books out there for that purpose. This book lets the photos do the talking, and it does a fantastic job. Highly recommended!

This is a great book! There are many photos of Marilyn with other people that don't appear in other books. For MM fans, it's always wonderful to see photos not seen before. There are chapters on six of her most well known movies- Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Ladies Of The Chorus, There's No Business Like Show Business, The Prince And The Showgirl, Some Like It Hot, The Misfits and Something's Got To Give.

Very comprehensive, lot of photos only in black and white but clear. Would recommend to any Marilyn's fan.

I had this book yrs ago when it came out. I really only got it for the pictures. I do not think the timeline is completely correct and the phasing of some sentences is weird. Great black and white photos.
