If you like Don Ho this is for you..
I attended Maryknoll Catholic H.S. In Honolulu, Hawaii in the mid 70's.. My friends and I loved Rock and Roll and saw many concerts at the H.I.C. Also.. My parents liked Don Ho.. So, I bought this for a friend of my mothers who also loved Mr. Ho.. She loved it.. Me, it's okay.. But, the Beamers and Country Comfort and Cecelio and Kapono are better for people under the age of 60.. Coming from the Navy base at China Lake,Ca. to living in Kailua on Uluoa St. Was a big change.. Wish I never left..

The late, great Mr. Hawaii...
This is a wonderful book about the man who so loved his native Hawaii. We could not find this book anywhere, but my husband tried Amazon and we were able to find a copy and we love it. We miss this talented entertainer who cared so much about his fans. We are huge Don Ho fans and have been since we first saw him perform back in the 60's. Each time we visited the Honolulu area we made it a point to see Don's show right up until our last visit just a short time before his death. We've never encountered an entertainer who took so much time to greet his fans before or after every show. This book gave us loads of information we did not know.

Hawaii won't be the same
My husband and I saw Don Ho for our 13th wedding anniversary, he was such a gracious man, he took pictures with us and signed autographs and gave us hand fulls of his recordings as gifts. He told my husband to always take care of me. I have always loved him and his music from when I watched him on tv when he would surprise the women and give them big kisses, I thought he was the coolest thing that ever lived. After reading his book, I learned he was more humble than I would have ever imagined and that touched me so, I'm a bigger fan today than I ever was. I'll miss him dearly. Aloha Don and God Bless.

DON HO - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!
Living in Oahu in the mid-60's, it brought back many wonderful memories of attending the wild and unpredictable Don Ho Show at Duke Kahanamouku's in Waikiki. He reigned as Hawaii's #l ambassador for over 30 years. No one made a trip to Oahu without seeing Don Ho. This book is a wonderful keepsake for anyone who was - AND STILL IS - a Don Ho fan. Well written; an easy read with many photos. I loved it. So glad I ordered it. You won't be disappointed.

"Mr. Hawaii"
Don Ho is a very special person to me. I know a little bit more of the Don Ho than most as his Mama used to write to me. He was a very loving and caring person. He did so very much for the Hawaiian people, he loved so much. The book brought me back to 1968 when I met him and his family. Each page is like being in his presence when he is talking about the "old times." Those he was closest to remember times with him. This is great reading and I recommend to all who would like to know a little more of Don Ho the entertainer. I miss him and Mama.

Insightful view on an Hawaiian icon
Enjoyed reading the interviews of Mr. Ho's friends from different stages of his career. Though I never saw him perform and lived in Hawaii near the end of his career, I knew his impact reached well beyond the shores of Waikiki.

Don Ho CD
I was so happy to find that this favorite from the past was still available. The CD has nearly all of my favorites. What more is there to say about a singer who lasted for generations and is the very symbol of Hawaii.

Don Ho: My Music, My Life
This Biography is stunningly done and is a real tribute to a great Island performer. It is written in a down to earth fashion and is a true insight to a Hawaiian man and his family. The photographs that are in the book are a testament to Don and his artistic talents. The celebrities shown are a who's who in the entertainment field as well as prominent persons and the people who came to see him perform in person at Dukes. This book is definitely a must have item.
