Shouldn't need this thing, but I'm glad I bought it
As my title says, with a touch screen, you should be able to get away with using your fingers. Why need a stylus?A few points - it's hard to see from the picture, but it's got kind of a rubbery, squishy end to the pointer. So, I have yet to get a regular stylus (like you might see with a Nintendo DS) to work on the device. But this pen has a nice heft to it, and it's really handy to use. One of the biggest complaints about the Thrive is that it's a fingerprint magnet, which is 100% true.Having said that - GET the screen protector. I hate screen protectors, but on this tablet they're going to perform two functions - obviously prevent scratches, but they also cut down on fingerprints. So does using this pen. The screen is gorgeous, but you'll appreciate not having to wipe it down all the time.

well made
This is a well made product, the weight is very reasonable to be writing on the tablet with and has worked very well to be able to take notes in class. My only complaint is that sometimes you have to push down harder than I would think is nessicary for the touch screen, and then at other times the touch is very soft and it is fine. Of course this could be a combination of the tablet and something else.Overall a good prouduct that does what it is supposed to do.Edit 9/28: I am sad to say I have had to take this review down a star. I love this pen for what it is, but over the past few days it has worn down. This is not overly noticable by looking at the product, but when writing notes the pen sticks more to the screen and I must tilt the pen away from the tip to write as smoothly as I once could. I plan on stoking up on a few of the cheaper knock off pens.I hope this is just a manufacturer defect and everyone else can ejnoy this pen to the fullest.

Toshiba Touchscreen Pen........
Purchased from Amazon, I prefer to use the TTP (Toshiba Touchscreen Pen), I believe it is safer use on the screen than my long nails. And of course to also keeps the screen much cleaner. My interaction with the screen is more accurate, therefore making it faster to work on my tablet. I meant AWESOME Toshiba Tablet! I rated it a 4 because it lacks proper connection to loop to attatch to tablet or handbag/briefcase. As a result I do not carry it outside with me, as I am sure to forget it. The pen effect is good for those who have a pocket on their shirt/blouse, etc.

Too short
The product picture made this look longer than it was. I was looking for one of these about as long as Bic pen. This was considerably shorter and I returned it.That doesn't mean that it's a poor choice for everyone. I just don't like a short tablet stylus. It's a personal thing. I returned this for a refund, but you might like it. It appeared to be well made. I bought a 3-pack of a longer stylus through a large online auction web site and am happy with those. I also have used a longer stylus made by Targus (which may be available on Amazon) that I liked really well.Pay close attention to the product descriptions for the length of these. Measure the length out on an actual pen and see how it it would fit in your hand before you order one.

Good buy --worth the extra cost
Having bought this and a less-expensive, non-brand name, the Toshiba is clearly worth the extra money. Unlike the cheaper models, this has better touch "action" and it LASTS (cheaper models had the tips tear, sometimes in days). It would be nice if this were longer in length, but otherwise it has a good feel in the hand. It also doesn't smudge or smear the screen. The only reason I've had to buy more than one is that I misplace them. It's too bad the cheaper, buy-in-packs cheapies don't work because that would have worked for me at the price -- except they weren't worth it.

I really like this pen
I use this touchscreen pen all the time. It really is worth the extra money over the cheapies that are available out there. It just has a nicer feel to it and helps to keep the smudges down on the screen. The only drawback I have seen is that it is not always consistent in its swipe action on the screen but not enough to really cause a problem. I have one for my Toshiba Thrive and the wife has one for her iPad and her Android phone. Works great on all of them.

Almost excellent
I have a Toshiba Thrive and I got this stylus to draw and write on apps supporting that. My only complaint is that the pen writes so bluntly that fine lining is not possible. So jotting a quick note? Fuggitaboutit. But it does work great for manipulating app icons and everything else you'd use your finger for and does not streak the surface of the tablet. It evens works on my TomTom GPS, too.

Nice pen, using on both tablet and Toshiba Ultrabook touch-enabled convertible
Among the computing hardware I have at home is a Toshiba touchscreen convertible Ultrabook and a non-Toshiba tablet. This pen was a small stocking stuffer for the household and we're enjoying the versatility a pen brings to the touch experience of both systems. It's a well-balanced accessory that has heft that makes touch even easier and more precise. It's not an ideal stylus for tablet handwriting, so if your touchscreen needs include handwriting, you might consider something else. For what it's designed to do this pen does a great job and popular in our household. I'm an Intel employee, opinions are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.
