All the Plots are the Same
I wanted to start reading the Virgin River series after starting to watch the series on Netflex. Learning that there were so many books in the series really appealed to me and I wanted to see how the books compared to the series. Well, for once I think the series is far better than the first three books I've read. Everything is always the same. All the main male characters have been in the military or are going into the military. There's always a violent event for which a woman usually needs saving---often about rape. The men are always thinking/talking about sex (I'm sorry, but by the time you're in your 40s, while thinking about sex may not abate a lot, you usually don't talk about it). These men, of course, are all very good in bed and we keep hearing this over and over (and obviously there are some explicit sex scenes which I wish readers would know bout in advance in case they aren't particularly into so many details). The women all seem obsessed with having babies (and a few get pregnant after being raped). I really expected this series to be about the small town life in California, getting to know all sorts of characters and getting glimpses into their daily lives. Unfortunately, the author just keeps recycling the same types of characters and the same basic plots. So I won't be reading book 4 in this series and will stick with enjoying the Netflix version.

Pleasant , But Predictable Story Line
I enjoyed the three Virgin River series of books that I read. The characters are likeable and the stories are entertaining. However, the series is getting pretty predictable. Every man is a gorgeous hunk and every woman is beautiful and petite. And every woman is going to be pregnant! While I enjoyed the series, I have moved on to some other entertaining series by other authors.

Must love babies. Way too much baby rabies for me.
I loved the first couple books but this one took a turn too far to pregnancy worship. It’s just over the top with men “getting her pregnant” and every woman pining for conception. I live in a small rural town and trust me, not everyone is sitting around hoping for a mysterious handsome man to impregnate them.I love the Virgin River backstory and Carr’s other series. I just don’t know if I can go further into this series because of the baby adoration.

Meh
I love the introduction of Mike as a main character but some of the things he says and does seem cliche and stereotypical. Also, the four page sex scenes are a bit much. The people in these books do nothing but have sex and assume very dated and stereotypical roles. Even teenaged boys come off as wooden and unrealistic. The dialogue is cringe-worthy at times. And it says that all of these books were published in 2007 but the descriptions of technology seem more like late 80s/90s... No one has a computer, the internet is this mystical thing... It's a little disappointing. But if you want a light summer read and you find it on a used book rack, it might be worthwhile.

Looking forward to the next Virgin River
Something about Virgin River keeps drawing me back. This time it was Mike and Brie along with Mel and Jack and Vanni and Paul. Predictably, I can guess that the next book will be about Vanni and Paul. The story is always more complex than a single sexy scene and I enjoy the intertwined lives of all these characters. I'm glad there's so many in this series because I'm always sad to.leave Virgin River.

Loved books 1-3, that's it.
I was WAITING for Brie and Mike to get together! Got excited when Brie finally had the courage to move forward and kick her ex-husband to the curb, who was a complete douchebag.Anyway, this is probably the last book I will read from the Virgin River series. I've completed books 1-3 and have got to say that book 3 was my fav. The ending was kind of bleh, could've been better. After reading a few sample pages of book 4, I'm beginning to see too much repetition and it's getting quite boring. I'd like to read more about the other characters such as Doc and Hope, but I think I'm over the whole "hunky man saving a damsel in distress" type of storyline.I read the books after completing season 3 of the Netflix series, which I still think is a whole lot better than the books. There is way more suspense and interesting takes on each of the character's stories on the Netflix version that these books don't have.

Whisping Rock heartfelt and a little sad at times.
Loved reading this book and series, you escape from what is happen in real world. You actually begin to feel apart of the Virgin River community. Robyn Carr has a beautiful way of writting.

An Ideal Holiday Romance Book
This is the third book I have read by Robyn Carr. I am not a fan of this type of book where it is pure fiction of the sugary kind. Perfect, clever, brave hero's and heroines. All their problems falling into happy endings. Mills and Boon it is. I like my books to be more real and life to. Well written but predictable.

Whispering Rock......good read
In this novel some serious issues are covered in a sensitive manner. Mike stands by Brie in a difficult time which ultimately brings them together. Paul now working in construction is working for Jack as he needs his new home finished for Mel as their second child is due. Paul is staying with the Booths when the Corps send a guard in to inform Vanessa of Matts death, with his support she gets through the birth of her child and leans on him for a time.An easy and enjoyable well written novel read packed with drama, suspense and romance a great addition to the series.
