cactus proof
I've used these for handling cacti with very large and sharp spines and find the palms of the gloves are impervious. Spines can sneak through the backs of the gloves so be mindful!

Stiff!
While I like that these are not made of leather or animal skin, they are way too stiff. I suppose that is what makes them thorn-proof. The problem is that it is challenging for me to work with such stiff gloves. Maybe they will loosen up? Let's hope.

It's simple--it works.
When my brother-in-law told me about these gloves, I sneered and responded that he lives on the East Coast and not in the desert in Northern Tucson. I have spent a fortune on gloves but since everything here has thorns, I used to figure that for every hour I spent working in the desert, I'd spent 20 minutes pulling thorns out of my body.So he sent me a pair, and I've been apologizing and thanking him ever since. The bane of our existence out here in the desert isn't rattlesnakes or coyotes or scorpions, it's a plant called "jumping Cholla" that has hooked thorns that are quite painful to remove.Nothing gets through the palms of these gloves, although you have to be careful because it's only the Palms that are thorn resistant. I can literally pick up any cactus and avoid having to spend hours with a tweezer pulling out the thorns. They are expensive, and I've already gone through one pair, but if you work with any plants that are out to get you, these are an indispensable defense.

Best gloves for cactus!
My first pair lasted 4 years of heavy abuse. These gloves are a necessity if your going to move large cactus like barrels or saguaros, but they also protect your hands from getting burned. In Arizona everything bites and stings, and even garden tools get to hot to hold after baking in the sun but these gloves hold-up to it all. If I can restack burning logs in the fire pit and pick up broken glass, you can be certain these gloves will protect your hands pruning rose bushes

Protects half your hand
The gloves feel quite stiff like wearing spacesuit gloves, however I was able to use gardening tools without too much effort. The black coating on the palms and under fingers is quite protective, but the fabric back of the hands and fingers surprisingly offers less protection from thorns than everyday leather work gloves. I had to be exceedingly careful clearing thorny vines, which kept wrapping around the back of my hands and embedding my skin through the thin fabric. Disappointing particularly at this high price.

Good Glove For Roses
Like the fit. The padded palm is good but I. An not feel anything through it.

Great protection from thorns
This is the second pair of these gloves I have ordered. The first pair lasted about 4 years, with heavy seasonal use, then began showing battle scars ( thorns on vines and roses). Happily replaced and will continue to enjoy the pain free pruning.

These gloves do the job well.
These gloves will definitely protect you from thorns. Keep in mind the protective coating is thick which limits your dexterity somewhat (not going to be easy to handle small items like screws, seeds, etc.) but that shouldn’t be a common occurrence in dealing with thorns, brush, etc.
