Not Truly White but Exceptional for the Price
My color perception might be different from other people, but this bulb seems more like an off white to me. It isn't as yellow as the original factory bulbs in my 2011 Honda Fit Sport, but I don't see a true white. I did replace the factory halogens with LEDs before getting this Show Chrome 10-8455 bulb. However, the LEDs require more wiring than I find convenient so I decided to go for a white halogen bulb that doesn't need extra harnesses. Compared to the LEDs, this halogen is warmer in tone, a white with a yellow tint, while the LEDs are cooler with a blue tint. The difference is pronounced when shown side by side like in the picture, but only enough for me to deduct a single star since it seems to be good as a halogen bulb. Other than color, the Show Chrome bulb appears to cast a beam comparable in length and width to the LED. The LED might be brighter, but that just may be because white light is harsher to the eyes than yellow. Also, there is only a single bulb in the package--this isn't a two pack. I actually requested to return it because of that, but Amazon let me keep it even after the refund. Truthfully, I won't be using it unless the LEDs and/or the relays they connect to fail. If it comes to that, I won't hesitate to buy another Show Chrome bulb to pair up with the one I already have.*UPDATE*I decided to return the LED bulbs (sold by AutoFeel). I started to notice that they would sometimes flicker even when connected to resistors. Even more, the resistors dimmed the LEDs causing them to be not much brighter than the Show Chrome (probably why their respective beams seemed to be comparable instead of the LED blowing away the halogen). I've reinstalled the Show Chrome, but I do need to buy another one to match it. At the moment, it's paired with one of my factory bulbs until the new one arrives. And only now am I really seeing the improvement in whiteness. The factory bulb is much more yellow, a deep gold color versus the Show Chrome's light beige. Still not truly white though, and doesn't have the faint blue tint of my LED fog lights. I am tempted to increase my rating to five stars, but the brightness doesn't seem to be improved despite the factory bulb being over five years old. This seems to be common though, as even Osram's and Philips' white halogens are often noted to be dimmer than factory. That said, Show Chrome is much cheaper than the big name brands. Buying two of these 10-8455 bulbs separately is cheaper than a two pack name brand. If in a year the 10-8455 is still kicking, I might just come back and make this a five star review.
