Works well
Excellent build quality. It's sturdy and compact and travels well for field use. It works as described and has a good battery life. It's a little noisy, but it's not an issue for my application. Great value for the money.

Noisy
I bought this item to use with my mobile and I'm disappointed. There is no start-stop recording function when pressing the manual button or even from the app.Twenty centimeters is really short if your object is not close enough. The maximum speed of 10mm/sec is slow and cannot be increased. There has been no response to the support request submitted on the Smartta website.

Best ad on to mit kit...
... for a very long time. Its light, fast to set up, quiet enough to be used during an interview - and holds a charge for days. If not weeks. A SONY a7sii with cage, ProRes recorder, matte box and 85mm. f2.0 prime - not a problem! Its smooth and super stable.

Works well but annoyingly loud
I've used this slider for a few small projects now and have been really happy with it. It's got smooth movement, it's really portable, and it has had very good battery life. The only thing I haven't cared about it is the loudness of it. It's not "My god is something broken" loud, but it's a droning loud that shows up on videos if you don't do the audio correctly. It was also annoying to download and install the app as you have to go on a search for the app as the direct links don't work anymore.Overall I'm happy with the slider and it will be used for more projects in the future.

Stay away! Gets stuck, Battery died on arrival, App unavailable everywhere.
Mine came with a dead battery so I can only use it while plugged to a power source. Even then, sometimes it just turns off while going. It is very limited without the app, and its not available in android stores anymore so you have to download the apk from shady sites.Sometimes it gets stuck when it starts moving, and I'm afraid of fixing it manually (what they recommend) since others have had it stop working completely.Reading other reviews there is no support from the manufacturer, so I guess I just flushed almost $300 down the drain.Go with the YC Onion Chocolate SE Slider!!! Stay away from this scam.

I love this slider!
This slider is light weight and saves me time during set up for my recording shots. I wish I would’ve bought it before I purchased another slider that is longer and heavier.

Easy and simple to use
The Smartta SliderMini 2 has a good build quality, compact in size, and is a motorized slider. The small size makes it perfect for traveling, since it's lightweight and doesn't occupy a ton of space in my back pack. It's pretty much put together out of the box, but I would've liked to see a 1/4" adapter included. Still, it's wonderful that it can be operated independently from the app. You just press the button on the side to have it move left or right, which is useful because it means I'm able to start using it right from the get-go.The app adds a bit more control to your slides. Not only do I like being able to set its speed, but there are also preset settings to use. Slides are pretty smooth and if you practice enough, you can achieve a parallax effect using it in conjunction with a video fluid head. My only complaint is that it's a little bit on the noisy side. I wouldn't use it if you intend on recording audio, like conducting an interview, due to the noise it makes while sliding. If it's farther away, it shouldn't be a problem though.Nevertheless, it makes for some outstanding b-roll shots. I highly recommend given the cost and ease of use.

Smallest, lightest motorised slider I've ever used
I needed a slider for a recent trip. it needed to be light and small as luggage limits were strict (note: this needs to go in hand luggage on aircraft due to internal lithium battery). It weighs just over half a kg. It's very smooth but at higher speeds it's noisy! In vertical mode payload isn't as good as other sliders - it struggled to lift an A7C + 16-35 + ball-head (approx 1.1kg in total), it even stopped a couple of times and appeared to be overloaded. Horizontal moves are not a problem. The app works well on iPhones and allows for soft start/stop moves and lots of control over speed etc. You can also just use the slider's onboard button but it's basic: it runs at full speed to the far end then stops abruptly - to get the best results you need to use the app. Also note that if you also want to remotely control your camera (focus etc.) whilst using the slider you'll need to carry 2 phones since you can't run both apps at the same time.If you have a newer Sony camera like the A7C II with just a USB-C port (no Multi port) you can't use the slider's time-lapse function since there is currently (as of Feb 2024) no remote shutter cable that's compatible (this is a Sony problem not a Smartta problem). It could do with some built-in stabiliser legs as when you try to use the slider on its own without a tripod it will tip over with anything heavier than a smartphone or GoPro attached.Despite its limitations overall it's an impressive bit of kit. Battery life is excellent and it's so small you have no excuse not to keep it in your kit bag all the time.
