JL OEM Hood Latches Original Hood Lock Catch Latch Kit for 2007-2023 Jeep Wrangler JK JL and Jeep Gladiator JT (1 Pair)

No more hood lift and bounce. These work great and are really easy to install on a JK with one minor modification of removing the two nylon nipples before installation. Some people complain the hood is hard to close because you need to move the latches out before shutting it but its really not that difficult and a small price to pay to no longer have hood bounce.

As stated in other reviews it's important to drill out the two smaller alignment holes in the hood to line up with the pins on the backside of the latch. Once that is done it fits up great and is very sturdy. You do need 3 hands to close the hood however, the metal loop part is spring loaded and pushes inward when opening the hood and you need to pull them outwards to lower the hood into place. Also there are little rubber inserts in the bottom of the top portion of the latch that fall out and I will have to superglue them in. Overall they're great latches and a bargain at the price but with these caveats.

Fit fine on my 2013 Jeep Sahara. I did not need to take off the grill. You can reach the nuts with a small 1/4 inch ratchet. Looks great like OEM. My jeep is stock and didn't want any fancy metal ones with pins trying to look like a Nascar. Gave 1 star off because the spring makes a pain to close. As other reviews pointed out. Not sure why there is even a spring there? I may remove the spring so they just lay fully open and then latch it.

I did have to remove the grill and headlights to get the appropriate angle on the fender mount. Not a big deal. The hood mount was easy. No drilling, no issues. Line everything up before tightening. Less than an hour to install.

C clip on one of the latches was bent, uninstalled and not in the package. The plastic is also low quality and smells strongly, overall very low quality for a safety item. After handling these, I’ll gladly pay more for quality hood latches.

Like the looks. Not that hard to install.Mine didn't line up but that was because the hood wasn't aligned properly. Hinges were bent.Have no idea how you are supposed to close the hood without fumbling around to get the latchs out from under the hood. See the second photo.

These fit great! A little tricky to navigate my fingers into the fender to tighten them up but a swivel socket or swivel adapter on a 1/4” drive did magic! After installing these on my 17’ JK, the hood shimmy and shake in the highway was completely gone! Worth every penny!

I bought these hood latches to replace the older metal ones that I had on my 2011 JKU. The hood mounted part of the latch was very easy to install and it was accomplished quickly.The bottom part of the hood latch was a real pain indeed, though the difficulty didn't have anything to do with the hood latch, but getting to those nuts on the left and the right on the lower fenders was very hard and took a lot of time.Not only that I had to take off the grill, but I had to partially dissemble the plastic fender liners to get to them.That being said, these hood latches look really good and they appear to be very sturdy as well and they hold the hood down very well and are hard to latch.Because of the difficulty I had on the installation, I don't think I'll be changing them any time at all.I would not buy this item again. Very hard to close. I should have bought MOPAR OEM hood latches .

Installed on a 09 jk and no more hood jump when on the highway. A lot more secure than original ones.
