6 inch Grit 60 Quality Electroplated Diamond coated Flat Lap Disk wheel

I use these Kent diamond disks on a Worksharp 3000 sharpening machine (AKA: horizontal disk lapping machine) in lieu of PSA abrasives, to sharpen chisels and carving gouges 2 inches and smaller in size. I find there is no need for any kind of attachment to the glass disk of the Worksharp unit (such as PSA megnetic vinyl, etc.) aside from the regular top knob, no matter whether this disk is on top of the glass disk or below it for use with the sharpening port. Using these diamond disks, I have no need for more than a single glass disk and they save a lot on the cost of abrasives in the not-so-long run. I use them in 240, 500, 1200, and 3000 grits. I also use a leather honing disk with chrome oxide compound that I made by gluing a piece of leather to an old one of these diamond disks.These Kent brand disks arrive more quickly than others that are shipped from overseas and their customer service is great.

I bought one of these for use in my Work Sharp WS3000, knowing that it was not recommended for that use. Since then I have bought additional disks from 400 through 3000 because it worked so well. I just put it on the work sharp and then place the glass disk on top to make it more rigid. It works great, sharpens perfectly, and lasts a long time. Overall, it will be price competitive to the sandpaper disks that are recommended. The ease of changing Grit is incredibly easy using these.I highly recommend them for that use.

Just received this disk and the 3000-grit version. Did a great job on my multi-layered and ceramic kitchen knifes. The steel on the multi-layered knives is too hard to sharpen with conventional sharpening devices. The diamond wheels used with the Worksharp system did the job. Even though my knives were pretty sharp to begin with, I found that starting with the 1500-grit and finishing with the 3000-grit was the way to go. Trying the 3000-grit alone would have taken too long to attain the edge and would have worn the wheel too quickly.It was a perfect fit on the Worksharp system without any modification needed. The wheels are thin and need to be supported by a glass wheel.

I needed a diamond wheel to sharpen my tungsten electrodes for TIG welding. This fit the bill. When it arrived, I removed one wheel from my bench grinder, and drilled out the arbor hole to 5/8" to match my bench grinder shaft, then slid this diamond disc on, and then put the wheel back on to act as a backing and keep the diamond disc rigid. It works great, and cuts through tungsten TIG electrodes like nobody business!

This wheel is quite thin and has only one side for polishing. Don't push too much pressure on it. It did come quicker than others ship directly from China but with 50% more in price.

The Kent 60 grit flat lap disc works great at good price. Very fast at flattening and rough shaping jasper and agate slabs.I have ran about 30 to 50 stones ranging from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Will purchase this product again.
