Primary Math 3A Home Instructor's Guide

When I first started teaching Singapore math, I thought the teaching guides would be an unnecessary expense. After all, an answer key is not really needed for basic math.However, this year I started using the teaching guides and have found them extremely helpful. They are much more than an answer key. The home instructor guide provides useful tips for how to teach math in the Singapore style. This is especially if you have never had training in the method or if you did not learn elementary math this way years ago. The guide saves hours of preparation time.It is possible that if you used the guides for several earlier levels, you might not need the guide for subsequent levels. I am using the guides this year for the first time to teach several levels, and I have found all the the levels I've examined to be effective and useful teaching tools.

Singapore has been our homeschool math curriculum for the past 3 years. It's a great fit for my kids, as they prefer to work independently with few repetitions. This book is handy to reference when we need clarification on questions in the workbook, as well as correcting in a timely manner. We use this book only and do not purchase the textbook.
