Best at home bleach I have used!
I have used multiple different brands of bleach on my blonde hair, but this one takes the cake! It doesn't smell like bleach, it actually smells like berrys and the amount of damage to your hair is significantly less than normal bleach. I usually have ends breaking off after I bleach, but not with this product! Plus it also has a built in toner, which erases the additional step of toning- which is easier on your hair (especially if you bleach your hair continuously). It also only takes 10 minutes to develop, unlike usual bleach which is anywhere from 30-40. I don't think I will switch bleach anymore, this is now my one and only choice!Ps do not freak out because it is a bright blue/violet- that is the toner to take away the brassy yellow/orange and unwanted tones that normal hair pulls. It will not turn your hair blue or purple, just keep in mind it is only to be on your hair for ten minutes or so. I recommend doing half your head, and then letting it set, and then do the other half. This will not allow you to lose track of time and leave it in too long. I imagine if you leave it in your hair too long it might give you a blue or violet tint.

Worked surprisingly well
The package says that it's for use on lighter hair, but I used this on my dark brown, nearly-black hair with (non-Clairol) 30 developer and it bleached my hair to a pale blonde. You'll have to leave it on for longer than recommended and use heat on it, but that's par for the course when your hair is as dark as mine. This product is supposed to be used on untreated hair (but as I am obviously incapable of following any sort of directions) I used it a second time to bleach out the orange dye I had used, and it did the trick. While bleaching the second time, it turned a terrifying green color -- I assume as a result of the purple toner mixing with my yellow-orange hair -- but when I rinsed my hair out it was bleach-blonde and ready to be dyed again. In short, I would definitely recommend.

I really love this product and I won't be using anything but ...
I have bleached my hair for nearly 30 years and I have also had my own salon in Florida during the 90's. I have alot of knowledge in the bleaching and toning field. I bought this because the toner I use is not being made any longer and I was having an issue removing the yellow from my hair, even with toning. I tried this bleach with 50 volume developer and then used T18 color charm toner and now my hair is back to being white again, I really love this product and I won't be using anything but this from now on...."Thanks" Kaleidocolor, you're a 10!!!!

can cause hair to fall out
I used this with 40 volume developer from Clairol. It removes color pretty well, although I think i will have to bleach again to get the lightness i want.I have bleached my hair again and again many times with Manic Panic 40 volume kit, but never did my hair start breaking and coming out right after washing the bleach out. However, with this combo of developer and bleach, my hair did begin breaking and did become more fried, hence the 4 star review. It is good bleach, but i think i will stick with manic panic as i never had to worry about my hair breaking or falling out with them.

Blast that brass
I love this stuff. I've been processing my hair at home for years and years with this product. I use it with 30 volume developer as per the instructions on the Kaleidocolors mixing recipe (2 scoops per 1 oz of developer) and let it set under foils with heat. The brassiness of my naturally medium blond hair is completely toned down and out by this purple wonder. Have never had a reason to try anything else or to have a salon do it for me. It's been foolproof for years for me. Good stuff if you want platinum, Marilyn-esque color without totally frying your hair to straw.

New Formula is 100% different - will work but you may need 30 developer to lift enough
Okay, I've been using the old formula for 2 years - perfect every time - 30 minutes and I have blonde hair. Well I tried out this new formula. It was runny, had specks of what looked like sand that would not turn smooth and after leaving it on 50 minutes in some areas, 30 in the other, it turned my hair orange - even on areas that were previously blonde. I called their help line and told them what happened. They said the new formula is a lot different, it is not creamy like the other and that the lifting time is different. She said that if you have darker hair, that you will have to go up to the pure white 30 developer instead of the 20 to get enough lift. First do a strand test on the orange hair and time how long it takes to lift to blonde, and then I can do all my hair 48 hours after I first bleached it. So, everyone - do a strand test first with this new formula, and it may take more time, or you need to try the 30 developer and see if it does better.Update - I tried the strand test 3 times - increasing the time left on each of the strands. I used the the 30 developer with this bleach - left it on 40 minutes and it hardly did anything. After this experience I am changing brands. I don't know what they have done to this formula, but it does not lift the color like it should. I am still left with orange brassy hair instead of blonde like the old formula gave me.

Used for 15 years, great product!
I have used this for years! Works great, no problems with turning the wrong color as some reviews say. I have even taken it to my hairdresser to do it for me, and she commented that this was a great high-end product. I have used it for probably 15 years. Turns my brown hair very very light blonde.
