Kotobuki Spam Musubi Mold

I got this because it was cheap. It works great and I’m so glad I got it.

This musubi mold is really good. The plastic is non stick. The part you press down with has the little bumps just like a good rice paddle. The rice just doesn’t stick to it. Also the mold fits the Spam pieces better than the clear plastic mold I bought somewhere else. The mold is also tapered so when you’re finished pressing your musubi, it pops right out the bottom. It’s a great musubi maker!

It’s kinda a silly specialized kitchen toy. I’ve molded rice by hand and used a cut off spam can and thought, “Hey, this is good enough”. However, with a dedicated musubi press you can really take your spam skills to the next level! The rice has a different texture and stays together better.

When I make Musubi.... it's party time so I'll make 36+ at a time... & who doesn't love spam musubi???

If you want to try something easier than using a can for mold, this is it. Less mess. Just spoon rice in mold and press firmly to pack on top of a cut piece of nori. Slice of spam on top, then wet the nori ends to wrap.

I bought about a month ago, and have used it twice now. It is very thick and durable feeling. Very nice handle design to press the rice with. I keep the pieces in a bowl of water in between assembly of each Musubi, and it stays clean and is easy to clean after use. Overall happy with this purchase.

It was a sad, sad day when our musubi mold of eight years dropped just perfectly on the kitchen floor and broke in half. Our family about had a heart attack mid way through making lunch... of course we survived by using our hands to mold rice in the approximate shape of a rectangle to finish. Though we all know that just wouldn't cut it long term.So after searching online - and not being able to find an exact replica of what we had held dear for so long - decided to try the Kotobuki model.It's actually a pretty nice mold. There are little bumps on the bottom of the press so the rice does not stick, and you're able to get a nice, solid amount of pressure evening across the space so the rice is packed firm against the spam and nori. The material is light and easy to clean, and gladly fills the void in my kiddos' brown bellies. Five stars!

Im from hawaii and i love spam musubi. Now i live in texas in a small town and i have to make it myself. This spam musubi is just what i needed in my life! Nothing to it if you take care of it. Now i make spam musubi whenever i want. My husband definitely takes advantage of this item hahaha. I definitely recommend this!

I like how it similar to the one I got from Hawaii!
