X: Multiply Your God-Given Potential

Greatly lacking Biblical principles.!
I do not like to be a cynic, as a Christian I prefer to look for the good and positive in things, so please let me make that clear first. Now, I must say that I did not read the entire book, I skimmed the first 4 to 5 chapters, and then started reading word for word from the beginning of the book. By the time I reached page 11 I could not read this book any further. From there I had to pray and ponder about this book and writing this review. I think there are vital points that are totally lacking that make this book untenable, and not a good read for any Christian. First, we as Christians are not suppose to "seek" money (Rather seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and then all things shall be added unto you.. that's Biblical). But the author starts the book out writing an example of a friend of his who is a business owner who's net worth is at that point 9 million dollars, and ultimately advises him (his friend) to strive to build his business and "approves" of him striving to build his net worth to 35 million dollars. In the midst of this there is a complete lacking of any explanation of what the business owner does; what business or type of business does he own and run..? Is it a 100% worldly business..? These would be pertinent stand alone points. But utilizing the perspective that it is all about increasing net worth is completely un-Biblical (Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.). A sad parallel within this story is the the author himself "loves" that he get's to play golf with this friend at a prestigious country club golf course. Again completely flying in the face of Scripture itself (Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.) Now to say that this book is based in Biblical "Principles" would be utter un-truth, rather it is intertwined in worldly views that are in fact contrary to Scripture! Worse is that there are so many recognized Christian "leaders" who applaud the book, and I now have to question them themselves because it is so blatantly clear how un-Biblically principled this book is. Another example of self-published erroneous garbage that could actually do harm. Avoid it.!!!

Sacred cows slaughtered
At the point of this writing, I am on chapter 14.This book is an excellent book for anyone who wonders about how to live the "sacred" life in the "secular" world. Author John Bevere presents real life experiences AND wisdom and shows us real life applications of God's word, especially for those who do not serve "full time ministry".His personal experiences and frank assessment of what happened was really refreshing.I was especially impacted and convicted by the Spirit of God on my own attitudes from chapter 11 and chapter 13.This book is comprehensive and would make a good small groups study, to parse out concepts making them applicable in OUR situations. May you be blessed. :)

An Awakening
This book opened my eyes to some wrong mindsets or preconceived ideas I had about ministry and life. This book has revolutionized my life. I now not what my calling is. I have started to reread this amazing book! I am crying as I write this. I now have direction in my life!!! Thank you a million times over John Bevere

Powerfully pleasant read
I consider this book to have been written specifically for the season of life I am in. The flow, the message, the personal application of the Word and how the author men's his testimony seamlessly into it.....I am beyond thankful! The best part is, this book is not a formula with answers, but more of a compass for life's wandering questions. I am refreshed and ready to continue on my journey with a new outlook and a renewed hope.

Example of a LIFE-CHANGING book!!!
Wow!! Words can’t describe how influential this book has been on my life since picking it up. It’s as if every page of it was written specifically for me. I’ve read quite a few other books by Bevere (I’m a big fan), but THIS one’s one of his most impactful. I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to see faith-derived increase and growth in their life with God. Such a killer read.

Good, but keep your Bible handy.
This book many gems of wisdom, but enough bad apples to make me put my guard up -- to name a couple of them: misinterpretations of scripture (pg.13, 2nd paragraph); and the veracity of the account on pgs 196-198 is doubtful, because he tells a very different story of that same account in his Messenger X app course "Hearing God" (lesson 7, at about 15:00).There is some good stuff, but check everything he says against scripture in its proper context, and take his anecdotes with a major grain of salt.

Challenging and inspiring
I was challenged in each and every chapter. Also inspired to take up the challenge to allow Holy Spirit to effect change in me. Multiplication... aka faith ... at one time incomprehensible now embraced. I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone seeking to grow their life in Jesus and give Him what He most assuredly deserves - all of you.

Amazing book!
So many great nuggets of wisdom here and such a breath of fresh air to read. Too many Churches and Christian leaders put so much emphasis on the gifts of the ministry that those who are not called to 5 fold ministry, which let's face it, is the majority of us, can feel left out or unclear as to where to place our gifts. This book brings so much clarity to that area. Brilliant and highly recommend!

Simple written, anybody can understand it and it's so easy-going. Love that it has questions for the reader to reflect on himself at the end of every capter. Not just something you read but you internalize it.
