Size:Steamer II Replacement Ceramic Basket - Black The method of steaming food was invented during the Han Dynasty thousands of years ago. Legend has it that General Han Xin made cooking utensils from bamboo and wood to cook food with steam. Through history, steaming has evolved to be one of the most iconic and essential cooking techniques in the Chinese culinary lexicon. The steamer pot and lid are made from fireproof ceramic, which has excellent heat resistance compared to regular stoneware, making it less likely to crack at higher temperatures. The JIA Inc. steamer pot can be used on open flame gas stoves and in both conventional and microwave ovens. Steaming is more joyful and colorful than ever with the new JIA Steamer ll. The exciting new Steamer ll empowers the user by offering even more customization option with more colors and materials to choose from. The user can always find the perfect solution to match their cooking and lifestyle.

Stains way too easy
This is my first ever one star rating...Pros: Beautiful modern design. One of coolest looking steamer. Dual use (can cook soups, stew on bottom part and steam food at same time). Handmade at a reasonable price so they claim.Cons: Smell from wood used is strong. It takes a while for smell to minimize. It STAINS incredibly fast. Anything other than light colored soups (chicken, potato, pasta soups, etc) will stain! Yes, as another reviewer said, the stains are impossible to get out. All my Le Crueset have light inner colored enamel but I am able to easily clean those. For the cost, I would stick to regular bamboo steamer.

Water must be in bottom cooker before you turn the flame or you can Char wood on upper basket
This is an excellent steamer rice cooker, we have bought three. But learned on our first smaller version...That without water in the bottom cooker, you can char and even burn the upper ceramic-wood basket. Also this company should make their line the coco brown colored ceramic, due to eventual discoloring of the outside of the white cooker. An extended flame, or overfilling...the leaking water can really stain the white color, and to keep it looking more like a natural patina, we had to clean outside with SOS pad. The stains can be as bad as dark chocolate..But after making a few initial mistakes, we have learned how to avoid the problem on our new White Large model

Nice steamer set
Really liking this high end steamer. Large capacity for a couple of dungeoness crabs. Solid and should last.

A 'Must Have' in the kitchen
I love this piece, it is my second one! The steamer works beautifully and it cooks the best rice! It is a work of art as well, the cedar basket sends out a lovely aroma when steaming. I use (both) of my steamers almost exclusively, highly recommend it.

Pot Good! Steamer Basket Garbo!
Although the pot is very nice and I regularly use it, the bamboo Steamer falls apart almost immediately just like in the other buyers pictures.

So far so good although the color in the picture is clearer and whiter than in reality. Expect a brownish white or pale beige.
