Love this Foot Pedal
July 2018 UpdateStill loving this, perhaps the best aspect of our kitchen renovation. Biggest downside - when we're in other folks kitchens we can't believe they also do have this, and we miss it terribly. We have seen/used the newer "non-touch" faucets as well, but if we were starting all over again we would still go this route - it's robust (only mechanical), works wonderfully, and there are no mistakes as to when the water is desired or not.End July 2018 UpdateThis is fantastic, and quite the envy of folks who come visit our home. We'd tried a competitive (cheaper) set of pedals first, but those were set too far apart, each pedal was too narrow, and pushing them was too stiff to be comfortable to use in bare feet. The Chicago one, however, is fantastic. We absolutely love ours and can’t imagine NOT having it – you might want to consider the following:• I wanted a foot pedal that worked independently from the faucet, where we could:1. Get cold, hot, and warm from the pedals (push both pedals gets the latter).2. Use the traditional faucet handles independently3. Not require any electricity to work (some had solenoid valves)4. Not have to move any levers to switch between foot pedals and traditional faucet, or open the faucet to get the foot pedals to work (I’ve seen all those kinds)• We picked a faucet specifically to make an easier install - a Kohler. Some of the Kohler faucets (like the one we've bought) have a quick-connect for the pull-out handle hook-up that uses a standard plumbing fitting (many other brands are custom). This allowed us to easily fit a conventional plumbing tee in there to feed in water from the foot pedal (I even found a specialty tee - Watts Brass & Tubular #p-448 3/8" Qc Stackable Tee - that I think is perfect). For that specialty tee, the straight part fits into the Kohler quick-connect, and the Kohler pull-out handle goes into one of the tee's quick-connects – the foot pedal into the other. And there are also other options for connecting this faucet that use more conventional plumbing fittings. The rest of the plumbing should be pretty easy.• We went with this foot pedal that mounts to the floor and protrude out through the toe kick1. There are other pedal mount options (e.g. hanging down from the cabinet), but with this one if you have a removable cabinet bottom to get at the plumbing then I think this approach has minimal impact on the cabinet (in terms of construction and storage space).2. However, note that the longer the water lines (e.g. supply and return), the longer one has to wait to get the temperature water you might be after. And a mounting style of under the cabinet has the longest hose requirements.• We mounted ours right in the middle of the sink, and I find I tend to use my left foot mainly to operate it. Since our dishwasher is on one side and trash on the other, mounting in the middle of the sink turned out to be a great compromise. But, I can imagine that if you always were moving in only one direction (left or right), it might be better to place it on that side.• Having the sink's toe kick easily removable - or at least the center section (we didn't end up with this through . . . non-perfect . . . communications)• Having easy access to the space under the cabinet bottom (i.e., being able to easily access the pedal through the cabinet bottom - or "floor" - for plumbing access purposes). For ours we have an access panel on the bottom of the cabinet.• We found if you place the pedal reasonably, it was not only quite easily accessible, but when pressed it cleared the 1/4-round molding as well.

Sloppy Casting
I'm really disappointed. I've been wanting one of these for ages, but when our unit arrived and I took it out of the box, I saw that the casting work on both pedals was terribly done. It was scuffed and dirty looking right out of the box. (I know it's going on our floor, but I'm proud of our kitchen and I don't want to install something that's in such bad shape.) Two other reviewers have posted photos of theirs and the pedals look great, so I guess I just got a bad one. I will be returning this. Also: Buyers should know that the unit is all that's included in the order. There are no hoses or anything else. The listing does not say that this is a "kit" with everything one would need, but I read it quickly and just assumed everything I'd need would be in the box. I read too quickly and this misunderstanding is my fault, but I want to be sure others aren't under the same misconception.

Love these foot pedals!
Buy the oversized pedals, for sure! Husbands size 11's can still fit on these pedals! Love the hands free, so easy to adapt to, keeps my chrome faucet clean. Mounts to floor, but you can't trip over it.

great price
I've priced these valves in 3 different plumbibg stores and all priced over $300. Easy to install and the price is right...no pun intended.
