Q: The product information says this "can work with up to 7 devices at the same time." Is this true?

Having a BT keyboard and BT mouse connected to it, trying to use a BT headset was very choppy audio. May be fine with just data devices but not in combination with audio devices.

Q: Does this dongle support aptX?

I don't see why not, since aptX is an audio compression technology. Assuming that both the source and the receiving end can both encode/decode the aptX compression, all the bluetooth is doing is providing a way to transmit from one point to another. I just tried the snapdragon sample playlist from amazon music (linked from aptX's website) over my Steelseries Acrtis 3's using this XDO 5.1 adapter and it sounded pretty amazing (Although my headset does not have the aptX Qualcomm tech). I could be wrong, but from browsing over their website (I recommend having a look), I believe that the goal with the aptX tech is specifically to bring HD quality sound over bluetooth with minimal fuss.

Q: Does it work with Windows 7 service pack 1?

This adapter uses the Realtek RTL8761B bluetooth adapter driver. There are drivers for Windows 7 but you won't find them on the Realtek website. A disk is included that has the drivers you need and a link is also provided so you can download the driver as well.
