Stop Hating On Darkness
Here we go again with the Disturbed gushing. The first thing I want to say before I get started on my review is just one thing. I have seen the song "Darkness" getting a lot of negativity on this album, and I haven't the slightest idea why. It is my favorite one I think I have ever heard by them. Hearing that song just showed me that David can not only rock the hardcore singing, but he can do ballads as well. And he did this one beautifully. I wish we had more of these kind of songs on Disturbed's albums, but we probably don't because of such negative fan reactions. Well, suck it up. I loved it so much, and it remains my top favorite to this very day. Now, on to my review. I already reviewed Darkness, so that song is not going to be included in my step by step breakdown of each song. The album altogether is great because it has variety. However, it is not my favorite Disturbed album. The two that are my favorites are The Lost Children and Asylum. Believe is a fantastic album and the songs were wonderfully written, it just isn't my top favorite. This was given five stars for a reason."Prayer" is the first song on this album. It is a hard rock song, but David's vocals are awesome and extreme. I love it a lot, and I'm not going to rate any songs because they are too amazing to be rated. I am just going to talk about each one."Liberate" comes second. This song contains the "f" word, so be careful listening to it around younger children, or people who might be offended by that word. It's a good song, despite the bad word."Awaken" is next. This one was one of the ones I just couldn't get to grow on me, no matter how many times I listened. It slowly is starting to, but it took a long while."Believe" follows. For the title track, I was actually kind of let down. I thought it was going to have me singing along, but it wasn't. It is starting to grow on me, however."Remember" comes right after. It is a hardcore rock song that I can't stop listening to. I really, really like it."Intoxication" is probably the hardest song on this album. It's all right, just not my favorite."Mistress" leaves me putting the song on repeat and listening to it over and over."Breathe" is unlike any Disturbed song I've ever heard before, but it keeps bringing me back to it."Bound" is my least favorite on the album. I had to force myself to sit through and listen to it, and although it is my least favorite, I can't say it was a bad song. Just not one I was able to get into."Devour" is okay."Darkness" for the full review of this one, see below. It is, to this day, my #1 favorite Disturbed song, and so far that hasn't changed.

A Step Up From The Sickness
While "The Sickness" was a solid record with rocking tunes, Disturbed really came into its own on "Believe," an effort that is musically more interesting and more mature overall. Whereas "The Sickness" sounds like a band begging to be heard, "Believe" shows a band comfortable with itself and unafraid to show more of its colors and that it says more tools in its arsenal.Draiman tackles increasingly personal subject matters and solidifies that he's a top notch melodic hard rock vocalist, showcasing his singing to a great extent. He pours his emotion into the title track and shows his soft crooning side on the closer, "Darkness." Meanwhile, Wengren adds a lot more complex, syncopated patterns with double bass fills while Donegan matches that with interesting, hard charging riffs, whether it's the intro to "Prayer" or the head bobbing start to "Rise." Musically, this a step up from "The Sickness." Notably, there are fewer electronic flourishes on this album. It's just pure hard rock with drums, guitar, and bass. The only real weak spot on the album is "Breathe." Otherwise, it's a consistently solid album front to back. It's refreshing to see the band evolve and take the next step to separate itself from the rest of the pack and show that it had the musical chops and wide vocal range to progress further.

A Metal Masterwork That Has Aged Like a Fine Wine
I listened to this album again for the first time in over ten years. Back in my early 20s when I first got into Metal this album got a lot of play and Disturbed was one of my favorite bands. Time passed and I got out of Metal and was listening to other stuff. Now I'm in my 30s and back into Metal so I decided to give this album a listen again to see if it lived up to my pleasant memories of it. It does indeed! The Believe album is like a fine wine and has aged exceptionally well. Disturbed brought their 'A' game to this album. Every song is awesome and they find balance between songs that rock your brains out and songs that manage to capture a myriad of emotions that one wouldn't necessarily expect. Their current stuff is awesome too, but this will always be my favorite Disturbed album.

Segundo disco de este estupendo grupo, muy buena música, potente y unas voces de ensueño en el rock, buena potencia instrumental y como digo un rock con clase y las voces una pasada.
