Worth watching
I love it that the bad guys were done in by the fact that one of them was damn well not going to take any orders from some damn female lawyer. The movie is based on real events so I have to assume that the plot went pretty much as it's portrayed here; if that's true, this is a great example of why criminal defense lawyers tell their clients "you have the right to remain silent, so for God's sake USE it."The pacing will seem a bit frenetic if, like me, you're more accustomed to watching 6- and 8-part miniseries. This easily could have been one of those, but given the constraints of cramming that much story into an hour and a half, they did pretty well. Acting was generally ok, nothing standout either way; Keeley Hawes is just fine but Nicola Walker isn't exactly looking back over her shoulder in terror, if you get my drift. Hawes's character was a bit more saintly than I generally like my TV cops to be, but again, the constraint here is that they were portraying a real person, who for one thing might have actually been saintly, but who in any event was employed as a consultant (it's in the credits), so they had some incentive to make her look good. I'm not usually into the true-crime genre, but this was a pretty decent example of it.

provocative
It is true that many people are familiar with the inhumane cruelty in some cultures. However, many are not: they are disbelievers in fear of being politically incorrect. This movie brings up several vitally important issues. This is not only about certain communities in the UK and the USA, and other countries. This is about all of us.Whether there are any shortcomings in the production of this film, or not, the film is a pithy statement. The actors are courageous as everyone else participating in this work. Keeley Hawes' acting is impeccable.

True Stories are hard to make
The movie itself was passing but not that great. The story is amazing and knowing that it's true made me feel that 5 stars was warranted. I will never understand so called "honour" killing; to me it is sick and perverse. When a culture promotes such barbarism it is not a worthy culture in my opinion. Those who are parents know how difficult it is to raise teens and we wish they would take our council but I can't imagine killing my own child. Sorry, I guess this review was about the story and not so much the movie.

Entertaining
This should have been 2 episodes at least. It felt rushed. Do we really need another story about honor killings?

Brilliantly done. Heavy. BASED ON A TRUE STORY - NOT A SCRIPT.
Based on the true police work of Caroline Goode, and what that means is this story, Honour, is based in factual events and police work and personal accounts of the *spoiler* murder of Banaz Mahmod. The acting is superb, the viewpoints of all characters are what make this heavy, heavy story so worth watching. Banaz' sister, Bekhal really blew me away, when she had to go to trial in full black garb to stand up and speak for her sister -- the irony there -- took my breath my away. This is a heavy-hitting movie, so well done and worth watching.

An authentic drama based on a real event
Keeley Hawes as DCI Caroline Good is an excellent choice as the senior investigating officer. Her controlled anguish" for the young woman's tragic path is palpable in every scene. Worth watching.
