Q: Can this be used on jars

You will need to buy jar lid sealer accessory to use with this. Yes you can use it on jars so long as you have the sealer tops. I ordered the only ones I could find, have yet to try it but I have watched some vids on youtube about it.

Q: What material is the pump housing made out of?

Its JUNK get something different. Stopped having suction with in the first 5 mins of using it. Something broke internally.

Q: Will this work to bleed the power steering system on a 95 Chevy?

Its pretty universal. It works just fine on every vehicle I own, it comes with several adapters.
