Cap the Tip
Unlike most mechanical pencils with exposed tips this pencil has a removable cap that you can post to make the pencil longer. Overall it's a nice change and you don't have to worry about the tip bending or breaking off if dropped. Cap snaps into place so make sure you hear the snap otherwise it can come loose when least expected and messes up your writing experience.

It's so pretty and functional!
I've always been one to use mechanical pencils. When I saw this pencil in rose gold, I knew I had to order it as it was the last one.So far, it's proved to be a good decision as it fits my hand perfectly. And, you can put the top back on it to protect the lead point.I'm always game for anything that makes me smile at work and this pencil does.

Very sleek and well engineered mechanical pencil
This pencil is very well engineered. You should know what to expect from a pricey, well-made mechanical pencil, so I will mainly go over features exclusive to this pencil. This pencil is quite comfortable to hold when posted, though when uncapped, it’s a bit small. I have seen others complain on the external plastic layer covering the mostly metal pencil, though I find that it provides a bit of friction that prevents this pencil from being slippery to hold, especially compared to the polished metal parts on other parts of this pencil. When they designed the pencil to be able to “clicked” even with the cap posted, they made sure to spring load the cap’s finial such that when capped or separated from the pencil, the finial in the cap doesn’t rattle at all. In addition, the eraser is located in the cap, so when posted, you can remove the end finial to easily access it. But, when not in use, ostensibly when the pencil isn't posted and is instead capped, removing the end finial of the pencil reveals the lead chamber, such that when in use, the end of the pencil serves as an eraser, and provides refill access when not in use.I was most worried about the middle grid section before buying this pencil, but the pattern is not sloppy at all, and is engraved very precisely and smoothly. It seems scratch resistant when I run my nails across it, though I don’t plan on putting this pencil through any durability tests. I’ve heard that this pencil can last quite a long time, but only time will tell as to the hardiness my specific model. There’s a few design features that at first may seem like blemishes, but I’ve grown to overlook and accept them. The metal rings where the cap meets the pencil is crimped, ostensibly to help the cap stay capped/posted, though at first glance, it looked a bit weird. The plastic on the pencil body isn’t uniform either; you may find darker or brighter streaks that are probably more distinct on lighter color models.I mainly have 2 complaints:Where the metal meets the plastic grip, there was a loose bit of plastic that I scraped off with a pair of scissors. It’s a little strange that such a blemish managed to pass post production checks given how precisely manufactured the rest of the pencil is.The cap also clips onto the pen a little too tightly, which makes using this pencil as a daily carry on that you can pull out and use whenever a little awkward. This is a pencil, not a fountain pen with liquid ink, so there’s really no reason for there to be such a tight seal between the cap and the rest of the pencil.

Cool pencil
I was rarely using pencils lately, but this pencil's "coolness factor" changed my mind. Love it!

Good engineering pencil
I went through an EE program on 0.5mm Pentel pencils and Pentel Clic erasers. They have not been exceeded. My comparable pencils are the Pentel 0.5mm P225 (no longer made?) and the Pentel 0.5mm Graph. These pencils are not too heavy and have a plastic grip area which doesn't slide, and a small barrel which suits my thin fingertips. They are reliable and give the impression of quality. The Kerry is new to me. It has a plastic grip area and an improved friction in the lead tube which gives better lead control. I guess what I want to say about this friction is it is slightly greater than on other pencils and that it is consistent while advancing lead, regardless of haste. The slipperiness of the anodized cap is unwelcome. The ridges on the lead compartment cap aid in removing it. The ability to cap the point will be useful to anyone who carries in a jeans pocket. Leaving the cap off when writing lets us turn the pencil to position the sharp part of the lead to paper without interference from the pocket clip. All in all it's hard to exceed this pencil; it's got better lead control when advancing than any other that I've held, and has a protected point when inside pockets. The Caran d' Ache Taiwan edition (0.5mm) is handsomer in my opinion; the black Pentels are more serious in appearance. The Pentel Graph has the advantage of a capacious grip area above the clip when removing it from a front pocket. The lead compartment cap easily detaches in these instances on the P225, leaving you cap-in-hand, pencil-in-pocket. To me the main things I guess are comfort and utility. I've used the Kooh-I-Noor 0.5mm radiograph-style pencils. I find them a bit heavy, uncomfortable in the knurled brass/chrome grip, and I've noticed the knurled chrome grip can break off of the barrel when the pencil is stowed in a backpack crammed full of freshman-level textbooks. Otherwise they look great and the quality is unmistakeable. In removing this pencil from a front pocket I use the nail of my middle finger underneath the end of the pocket clip while my thumb secures the top of the cap. The slippery anodized cap and wildly smooth clip discourage other approaches. A tab consisting of a folded-over sticker on the clip would give some relief to this chore, and inform the more observant of your utter disdain for appearances. Which, I suppose, just might get you through the conversation that much more quickly. The Pentel P205 is the most readily-available pencil meeting my approval. Its clip is more obtrusive in the lead-rotating maneuver than the one on the P225.

Best clothing-protection ever.
This is the best mechanical pencil there is. I bought several of them to give away, it's a very classy and useful gift that doesn't cost much but has "quality" written all over it. Wonderfully well designed and made, love it.
