In Buddha's sutra The Diamond That Cuts Through Illusion (in Awakening of the Heart at parallax.org) Buddha says "for 500 lifetimes I practiced transcendent endurance by not being caught up in the idea of a self, a person, a living being, or a lifespan. When a (person) gives rise to the unequalled mind of awakening, he has to give up all ideas." Thoughts/emotions/ideas are Entities. Everything is Entity because there is only One all-inclusive Life. Angels & demons r entities. On Wikipedia under "7 deadly sins" it says "evil thoughts or spirits to overcome." In M-W's Collegiate Dictionary see idea, Celestial Hierarchy, enthrall, hypnosis, fascinate, problem, devil, Mystery, Magus, scapegoat, underworld, freemason, knights of the Maccabees, books of the bible & intelligence: "an intelligent entity esp. angel." Reality is experienced in the absence of thought. The solution is to Master your thinking, to be Wise, to be mindful all day long, & to become Peace. The Cosmos supports Peace more than anything. Peace guarantees victory. Wake up! I don’t remember when I would be excited that much to hold a book in my hand and this is one of these. So much value in such small book! Beautifully executed: paper, fonts, layout… his calligraphy and the all these messages in this book felt to priceless.

I am a huge Thay fan boy so it is not surprising I live this book. I have read many of his commentaries and books and this is a fresh change. It reminds me of the artist he is as well as the master and teacher. Along with his usual miraculous insights is a brief description of his technique which was fascinating. The art itself is sublime.

This is a most wonderful book !I have many TNH books and his writing and lifes work is inspirational and also part of my own practice. This book has pictures of his calligraphy and is a lovely way to be reminded of the essence of TNHs message and to use as a reminder to bring oneself back to the present moment.Great to have around, would also make a lovely present for someone who needs to be "present"!
