I do not know what grade they are. But they are a nice light weight heavy duty hanger

Q: Is the end of the hook sharp like wire hangers or is it smooth?

The first set I ordered are fairly smooth. I did find it scratchy or having a tendency to snag clothing. The second batch came with small clear rubber covers on that tip. I removed one and the tip was slightly sharper than the previous order without the covers. I love them and would order more if I find I need more that the 40 I already have.

Quite a bit of weight. These are extremely sturdy coat hangers...very rigid...will not bend.

I really don't know what metal they are made from, but they sure are nice and quality. In fact, I am about to order more.
