Worked fine for a small job. No data on longevity.
Used for dado for drawer bottom insets. Plenty sharp.

Will be buying more
Purchased this bit after a different bit broke on first cut. This one held up for all work needed to do. Cut smoothly through oak. Excellent bit for the cost.

Very Impressed
I have two Kempston 1/2" shank boxed router bit sets, plus a few individual bits in 1/4" shank. I'm not a pro, but I have been extremely pleased with the nice smooth cuts all of their bits have made. No tear-out, just nice clean cuts.

Does the Job
I had never heard of Kempston router bits but was compelled to buy this bit because of its price and the fact that they were shipping to India. The nice thing about Kempston is that like CMT and Axminister it ships bits in hard plastic containers, which prevent damage during transit and make for handy storage. The Kempston bits are coloured yellow like CMT bits are coloured organge. I tried the bit and found it made a pretty good cut. However, I encountered some chatter when the bit was being used for all its two inch cutting length. A solid carbide spiral bit produced no chatter at all in comparison. But the Kempston bit produced a sharp, crisp edge. Excellent for its price. Just have to see how long it lasts and keep giving sharp edges.

Fantastic bit, couldn't be happier!
Very sharp, used only on a small project but it cut very cleanly. Absolutely thrilled with my purchase!

If it wasn't for the rust...
I rated this product and retailer three (3) stars. The bit came on schedule, was wrapted well and was what I expected except for the rust. Yep, the bit is rusty. It came from Taiwan over the great salt ocean and I know that makes things rust. I knew this before I ordered it. I don't mind the product built by a Allie of long term and good standing. I do hate rust on a new router bit. So, they get a three. I didn't send it back, because I needed it and I knew that the rust wouldn't hurt it. I do suggest that Amazon and Kempston get their act together if they expect to make money.

Perfect sharp edge out of the box, nice hunk of carbitde, specked to exactly the right size.
Excellent router bit. Kempton didn't skimp in building this. Specks to exactly it's stated size, nicely coated to help keep it clean, perfect edge, right out of the box. Satin smooth finish on an oak project, with a little deeper then normal cut, and no burn. This is my first Kempston bit, but I won't hesitate to order more in the future.

Makes a clean cut
Makes a clean cut in oak. Building drawers and needed a slot for the bottom, a thin piece of plywood. This got it done with no fuss. Should be useful for future projects.
