Fiskars Rail Planter Flower Pots
Last season, I chose a 24" Deck Rail planter not really sure if a rail planter would withstand the spring winds here. It worked very well; with the weight of soil and plants, I never had any problem with the planter being blown off the railing. I loved it so much that I purchased two 12" round ones this season. Though the name suggests that the planters are pottery, they are made of a very resilient plastic material that has a pottery-like appearance. My porch rail is 3-1/4" wide and the pots fit tightly onto that width at the narrowest slot under these planters. I do drill drain holes on the bottom of each planter.

This is a great find
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!! These are the best things ever. I don’t really know what I was expecting to get, I didn’t even know something like these existed. I love the fact that they can fit almost any size fence. They are bigger than I expected which I was extremely satisfied about since sometimes it can be a gamble ordering things online. You do have to pop drain holes into the bottom of the pot, but it shows you exactly where to put the holes and it was very simple to do (my seven year old helped me).... I was afraid they would fall off the fence during a windy day, or maybe an animal would knock them down but they are VERY sturdy. I am definitely going to buy more of these.

Rare round deck planter, smaller than 10" inside, best for smaller plants, fits snug on deck rail
This is a surprisingly rare planter. One that is round, made for a single plant and can fit on a standard deck rail. The description says it is 12" but in reality, it's smaller. The actual size is 12" only when measuring the outer-most rim from one side to the other. The inner opening is 9-5/8" (roughly 10"). This means it will really handle only smaller plants that would typically use a 10" planter. The dimensions allow it to fit snuggly on my deck rail so I think it will hold under a small breeze. The color is a typical terra cotta although the Amazon image appears more reddish.

Just what I needed
I love these rail planters. The railings that extend on either side of my front porch steps to the wall are only about 20" long and 5-1/8" wide . I looked high and low for planters small enough to fit. Nothing locally so I went on-line to search. I found these on Amazon and since price was reasonable thought I'd try them. While I hadn't even considered round planters (didn't know they made them even) I decided to order 4 of these. What a great decision. I plan to order a few more next year because they look great on my back deck railing too. One thing I particularly like is that while they are very sturdy I can easily lift them and reverse the pots when I want to give more sun to the opposite side. I can't do this with the larger rectangular rail planters. These pots fit the rail width perfectly. Definitely recommend these planters

Got a deck? Get these!
Well-built units are supported by gravity due to the significance soil mass below the center of gravity. They have removable plugs for drainage. The large round ones are great where one might use a hanging basket; the three-sideways-one-across combo offers loads of possibilities! These really deserve SIX stars!

Happy plant planter
Durable, good size for one plant. Sits solid on balcony. I filled up the wells with small stones to help drainage both sides and prevent blowing away. Sits tight on balcony size indicated. I think if a railing was too small, bubble wrap could be wrapped round the railing so pot sit tight.

Great idea and execution
Fantastic product. I don't pot plants directly into them, I use them as cachepots to catch the excess water for 4-6" pots. That allows me to easily rotate seasonal plants and refresh the display of color.I'm not the most fastidious gardener, so these stay out all year long and still look great. Granted, it's NorCal, so we don't get typical winter, but we get temperature drops and lots of wind and rain, and they haven't cracked, chipped, or faded. As for design, they fit my deck rails perfectly. I've not had a single one fall or tip - however for insurance, I toss a few handfuls of rocks into the lowest wells (the sections that hug the rail.)

Handy as all get out.
I love these. The front porch has 4 inch top rails. The back porch has 6 inch ones. These fit both! Very handy. I did drill 3 tiny drain holes in them. I'm a nut about circulation for my plants.
