Shop Fox D2269 Face Frame Clamp

Purchased 2 of these FS face clamps and 2 of the FS right angle clamps in early 2020. Just now using. Box claim of 7/8" material use. Neither set was capable of clearing 3/4" material and the poor QC allowed the clamp legs/pads to not be in parallel. I needed to split the clamp link, then made a jig, to insert and weld in a 5/32" filler piece to create a 2.5" center to center clamp link. That fixed that problem. Also, a poor method of retaining the link legs to the body and clamp pad. (A piece of failing rubber in a crudely made slot? Pieces fall apart at random.) I will machine/tap for a machine screw and washer at the ends of the link legs to hold the legs from dropping out. Note: I usually don't submit the lower 3 star reviews.........but since I needed to do the finish fabrication here, I felt obliged.

The clamp work well on wood 3 inches wide and under. Wider than that it goes a little out of square.

Works excellently.however, if the u- shape link is available in larger sizes to accommodate thicker material...that would be a great value... I recommend it

Well made alloy fabrication, but tolerances mean I can only use it on wood planks up to 19mm thick. It uses the friction surfaces to grip (pine planks) reliably with no slippage. A useful niche tool for my carpentry work.

Rating based on my opinion and product use. The rating needs to be a drop down only and not require someone to write an additional response. You will get better data with the multiple choice questions.

When your doing frames and putting them together, their's nothing like this product. Its very well made and is easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone, putting frames together. It shipped fast and the price was great.

Really helps to have these when making face frames. Clamp this on before screwing in my pocket screw.
