Well written, with a comprehensive view of ancient bear eastern religion. Delivered at a layman’s level (thank goodness) so I didn’t need an academic level of knowledge of Akkadian Cuneiform. Interesting to start to see the Biblical tradition within a larger, and mostly, antagonistic, cultural context.

My favorite book by Sharon and Derek so far! Very informative and well researched. I will recommend this book to my friends.

Interested book. I like the identities of the horsemen of the apocalypse, and agree they are likely already riding in our world. If you like reading about spiritual warfare, the nephilim, the Rephaim, the fallen angels, and the pantheons of old, you’ll like this book. The book was written during the Covid pandemic and has a lot of references to things that were happening then, but it’s not so much that the book is dated. It’s still very interesting speculation on the spirit realm.

This book answered a few questions and gave insight to many things. Some of the book is suppositions and some word filler. I wasn't really keen on the fictional chapter but much fiction is based on myth which is based in fact to some degree, so I suppose it could tie into this book. I did have to stop and look up some terms at one point because I was unfamiliar with historical name such as that for the Golan Heights. I think the authors assume everyone interested in this book would have a more thorough study in biblical history. I haven't finished the read yet so I am looking forward to have more mysteries unlocked.

There is a lot of information in this book. Definitely a page turner. I love the fact that they use historical and archeological facts and more importantly, Bible scriptures. A must for anyone who desires to better understand end-time prophecy.

Anyone who believes that the ancient gods we have read about in Greek, Roman and other cultures and civilizations were just the result of the belief of ignorant people should read this book as well as other books the Gilbert’s have written on the subject. A case is made based upon Bible scriptures that they are real “princes” and have existed over the centuries as demons and fallen angels. They figure in to be part of the four horsemen of revelation. This book is recommended to all Christians who wish to broaden their knowledge of the Bible and more fully understand the our current ere and the last days in prophecy.

This book is well researched and enlightening. If you are a fan of Michael Heiser, you should enjoy this book as well. I am looking forward to reading more of the Gilbert's work. Well done!

The Gilbert’s have done a grand service to the church of Christ. They trace the meaning of the the entities identified in the Bible back to they roots, many times going beyond the Greek and Roman names of which we are familiar, showing why Assyrian, Akkadian, Babylonian and Sumerian gods provide the spiritual and historic roots of such gods and dragons. The result: We learn far more about our enemies in the Spirit world by learning how the ancient world understood them. The focus is Biblical, but remains willing to trace the etymology of the strange names back 5,000 or more years. The benefit: We uncover the meaning of the entities in the Bible with greater depth.

Personally I could not find anything new in this book, which I have not known before. There are better books of Derek Gilbert on the market.

Well written and opened my mind a little further. For anyone who wants to dig deeper. This is for you.
