One of the best comics EVER
I loved everything about it, starting with the art. The way they were drawn was one of the best I think I've seen. The colors were great. the story line was awsome. It was so good that they ended up making it into a few episodes on the animated show Star Wars the Clone Wars. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. One of the best is all i have to say. I recommend it to anyone.

great read
I loved this graphic novel. a lot of people complain about the cartoonishness about the clone wars but I enjoy the show and this novel is about the kiros enslavement which was adapted in season 4. I loved the arc and I love the comic. this is a semi-serious novel and the graphics are great. story is solid, and a great read.

Book corresponds to Clone Wars cartoon episode
One of very few books in this series that actually corresponds to the animated series of Clone Wars episode under the same title, Slaves of the Republic. I am looking for other comic books with the same storyline as the Clone Wars cartoon episodes.

Great Read With the Classic Star wars Feel!
While some people claim that The Clone Wars does not contain the original feel of the Star Wars movies, this collection proves that Dark Horse knows what they are doing! It does have the feel of the CG show, but it is infused with the swashbuckling adventure of the original trilogy and the story and intrigue of the prequel trilogy. This volume contains issues 1-6 of the series The Clone Wars from Dark Horse, collected into a compact digest that is great to take wherever you are going! While I greatly enjoy The Clone Wars television series, I understand why some don't and beleive that their concerns will be addressed while reading this book.

Not bad, not great
Note: While I own all the issues that make up this collection, I don't own the collection itself. This review should still be relevant, however, unless of course the TPB completely changes the content. Anyway. The first arc of this series is in a somewhat unprecedented style of portraying the Clone Wars in comics. It's definitely more light-hearted than the original "Republic" series, but less so than the "Clone Wars Adventures" and TCW digest series. Some of the writers from the show wrote this series, so the writing style from TCW is present here, for good or bad. There are also some...unfortunate scenes, such as a skimpily-dressed Ahsoka in bondage as part of a ploy on the part of the heroes, and a bound Obi-Wan begging Anakin to whip him (maybe the writers' minds were elsewhere?) but overall nothing too exceptional. The story is resolved in a way that stretches credibility to anyone at all familiar with clone troopers' chain of command and ultimate loyalty, but don't expect any foreshadowing or anything. It's not a bad read, but it doesn't live up to the precedent set by arcs like "The Dreadnaughts of Rendili" or "Obsession." I suspect that if Dark Horse were given free reign of the period, and didn't have to treat TCW as a separate entity, this series would be more ambitious and original, but as it is, it's basically an extension of the show, down to the art style.

But the Togruta have disappeared! Our Jedi's search for the missing citizens leads them to a place in the galaxy where pirates and slavers reign. Great story
Story and plot was great. Only complaint was it was 80% identical to the TV series verions. So if you watch the clone wars animated series you already know the ending. The art is great in the book. Better than the tv series. The villans are portrayed better. Overall great graphic novel. I would definetly reccomend
