Shadows of Brimstone: Masters of the Void Deluxe Enemy Pack

Game changer! Adds tons of new tactics!
I don't know why there are so many mediocre and vague “These look cool” reviews on here, but hopefully mine will help give you some player insight. Anyways, I bought this pack because my party / group would often joke about how everything just melee attacks them and brag about how they can just essentially keep their distance and be pretty successful. For your reference, I’ll shorten Masters of the Void to (MotV) in this review. What you get:• 3 Void Sorcerers w/30mm base• 3 Void Hounds w/40mm base• 2 Enemy Character Cards• A small MotV Rulebook (w/ 2 new missions!)• Low, Medium, and High Threat Cards• Encounter Cards• 5 New Mine Artifacts• New Mine Encounter Cards• Void Magic cards (For sorcerers spells)Void Sorcerers are the biggest game changer I have encountered, they do long range attacks, and sometimes do not even need to have line of sight to you, depending on if they are shooting bolts (Line of Sight needed) or are summoning magic (No line of sight). Because of this, they are pretty tough, and have a high health pool and should be a prioritized target by your party.Make no mistake, the Void Sorcerers will completely wreck your day, if you give them the opportunity.******** Below is a bit of a rant about my party’s first encounter with only 1 Void Sorcerer… *********One time my party and I were starting a new adventure in the mines, within our first enemy encounter tile, we were attacked by 6 Bats, a Slasher and 1 Void Sorcerer. Logically we took out the bats pretty quickly, as they blocked our path to the sorcerer and Slasher.. Meanwhile, the sorcerer ranged attacked us while we were fighting in a corridor and buffed his allies however he felt. We started working on the big Slasher next. Meanwhile the sorcerer stopped dicking around ranging us and used some kind of magic charge ability, we didn’t realize it was the pokemon equivalent to hyperbeam.. We took out the Slasher and luckily, the sorcerer took some damage from our heroic whiskey bottle swinging bandito (They suck at melee). We were all hurting pretty bad at this point, when the next round, the void sorcerer SPAWNED 4 Tentacles, ambush attack style. This pretty much decimated the majority of our party, as everyone unsuccessfully struggled to fend them off and went down one by one. There was a lucky US Marshal who was far enough away to first blast the sorcerer with buck shot, then clean up the wounded tentacles with lucky defense rolls and grit.. This was almost a full party wipe on the FIRST encounter. Luckily, RNGesus was with us, as all downed players only suffered only concussions as injuries. Needless to say, we abandoned our mission. ******** /Story Rant Over **********- Void hounds are quit a substantial threat themselves, they have unique abilities (on their character sheet) one such is a pack attack, where all void hounds, will attack one character! To make things even more interesting, their defense is equivalent to the attacking player’s Initiative, needless to say, our bullet spraying gunslinger was not as effective as the bandito was when we ran into a pack of these.Everyone dreads these guys if they pack attack, but they are a welcome changeup to lower initiative characters, who will carry your team when these attack.*********************TL;DR: Mark my words, this enemy pack is well worth the price you pay to mix up your game. It will make lower level initiative players carry the team in certain parts, while also adding a magic-class ranged enemy who may or may not need Line of sight to you (Sometimes they hide in a corner lip when your in a hallway). This is a HUGE game changer, and makes you think more tactically with your party to overcome these interesting enemies. Between this and the Frontier town expansion (writing a review on it soon), it is a whole new game!**********************Also if you don’t enjoy the assembly of the models, this kit caters to you a bit, the hounds come split in 2 halves, and simply need to be snapped and glued together. And I believe the Sorcerers, you only need to attach their heads and tongue, which isn’t too hard.I would recommend this to people who play a core set and want to see some variety. If you have both core sets like me and the Frontier Town expansion, this will be a NICE addition to shake up your confident party.

* Best bang for your buck on additional enemies for Shadows ...
*This is an expansion for the core set.*Best bang for your buck on additional enemies for Shadows of Brimstone. It also adds enemies with ranged attacks which changes the dynamic of the battle. The models look decent!

Great quality
Figurines are so much better quality than the original box set and can't wait to paint them. Bought as a gift and very happy, they're super detailed, smooth, and sturdy.

Solid addition to the series.
Lots of additions. It added the rules for ranged attackers. Scary Void Hounds, very dangerous. Also adds encounter and artifact cards.
