A little trouble getting it set up but it works great
I installed this opener myself which actually wasn't that difficult. I had an older opener already there so I was able to use the ceiling bracket that was already there and the bracket on the door where the arm connects which made the installation a whole lot easier. I had to replace the bracket on the garage wall where the end of the travel rail connects but that was an easy swap since the center position was already marked and i didn't have to locate it myself.I had a bit of trouble setting the down travel limit. It seemed no matter what I did, when the door closed it would stop hard against the garage floor which caused the travel rail to bow toward the ceiling and the belt to sag loose on one side and very tight on the other side. I had to spend a significant amount of time on the phone with technical support and I ran the door up and down so many times that the unit shut itself down because it was overheating. After about an hour total on 3 different calls the technician had me set the lower limit about an inch and a half to two inches from the floor and then cycle the door to set the limits. When we did that the door stopped exactly where I wanted it to, which was barely touching the garage floor.I had no trouble setting up the internet gateway and getting it to work with the app, but I did have some trouble setting up my account on the website. It wouldn't allow me to enter a password. So when I was signing in to the account I would click on forgot password so I could reset it but it would only send me to a page that gave me my user name but wouldn't allow me to set a password. I was stumped until I downloaded the app. Using my phone I was able to set a password and everything has worked fine since then.I was hoping that the app would alert me if I forgot to close the garage door but it doesn't. You have to open the app and it will tell you what position the door is in which I guess makes sense. It will also tell you how long the door has been in its present position either opened or closed which could be useful. There were a couple of things I learned on installation that weren't included in the instructions. The technicial told me that the motor should be mounted so that the travel rail is 1 to 2 inches lower at the motor end that it is at the point where it connects to the garage wall. I didn't find that in the instructions but I may have missed it somewhere along the line. Also the fact that you have to set the lower limit a bit higher than where you actually want the door to stop wasn't mentioned in the instructions. It could be that not every opener works that way and some of them actually work the way the instructions indicate. Who knows, I have mine set correctly now despite the trouble so I'm happy. It would have been nice if it had worked as the instructions said it would but it wasn't the end of the world. The opener itself with the belt drive is pretty quiet. It's not silent, but it's a garage, how quiet does it need to be? I have two garage doors, one a double with nylon wheels and a Genie screw drive opener and this one which is a single with metal door wheels and the Chamberlain belt drive. When I'm watching television in the family room I can usually hear the Genie door opener running when someone uses it. I can't hear this Chamberlain at all despite not having the quieter nylon wheels. So I guess it's as quiet as it needs to be.I like the fact that I can disable the movement sensor which turns on the light when someone walks around the garage. I can't disable the sensor on the Genie opener. I disabled the sensor because it was extremely sensitive to the point it was turning on even when no one was in the garage. The sensor on the Genie is not nearly as sensitive which I prefer. The speed on the door seems acceptable, it's not real fast but I've read that the fast openers damage your doors so I'm good with that.Home Depot sells the same opener for a couple dollars more but it does not include the internet gateway that comes with this unit.In summary I would buy this opener or this brand again. If my Genie breaks down I will replace it with a Chamberlain.

I would recommend.
Unit is much more quiet than previous openers. Installation was relatively easy. You may need some extra angle iron and bolts to mount to ceiling, unless your recyucling what was there before. Having never replaced a garage door oopener I wasn't sure what to expect. I took my time with the first one, and it took me by myself approximately 5 hours. (I read and re-read the instructions to make sure things were aligned properly, etc..) I also kept it very close to a low ceiling so that time included cutting angle iron to keep it tight to the ceiling. The second door I want to say took 2 hours. Both times included removal of old openers. Setting up the MyQ was rediculously easy, to be honest I'm not even sure how it works it worked so easily(true plug an play). Setting up external key pads took less than 3 minutes each including mounting them. Programming cars worked effortlessly. Installing and using the app (android) also works great. The motion detectors on the wall opener units to turn lights on and off is a very nice touch as well. (can easily be enabled or disabled). The app shows me status of doors and when the last activity was.I originally got a quote from a garage door comnpany to install two basic openers for 750.00. I purchased two of these, one without the MyQ for roughly 430.00 and put in about 8 hours of work and have a much better opener and end experience.

Does most everything ok, seems durable, quiet... but kinda' complicated
Pro's:Five months and still working perfectly with a HEAVY wood (particle board) two car garage door. Now I can check if it's open when I'm not home, and open/close it remotely... yay!!!Accommodates two light bulbs, if one goes out you still have light.Lots of program/access optionsBasic install no more difficult than any other. (but still a real hassle for one person)Good security protocols.Quieter than my old chain drive.Motion sensor for the light is handy, and can be set to off if so desired. The remote app works ok with my older android phone.Con's:Don't like that it needs the separate wireless hub (included) I had a spare port on my router, many will not.Grrrr, can't use LED bulbs (as stated). They interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.Belt adjustment/re-adjustment instructions are lousy... you're left to guess.I HATE that it does not work with older automotive Home Link setups. Back to using a clicker with my 02 Maxima.Learning curve for all features except the basic open & close function.
