Killers with no conscience
A story of Henry Lee Lucas who murdered people in the company of his teen girlfriend and his phsycopathic friend. It gives the grim back story of when he was a young child where he verbally and physically abused by his mother who beat and neglected him and in the midst of his disabled alcoholic father. It seems the rage he built may have up gave him the urge to kill. The actors in the movie are fantastic and perform well from the beginning to end with built up fear and tension for rhe viewers watching.A disturbing violent film but portrays the life of this seriel killer well.

Really enjoyable
I really enjoyed watching this film. My own problem is that the real Henry Lee Lucas is nowhere near as good looking as the actor playing him in this movie.

Worth a watch
A true story, a very disturbing story, and a decent attempt to tell the story. The acting is good, the cinematography captures the feeling of drifting aimlessly across a desert. There is an uncertainty about the numbers of victims of Henry Lee Lucas/Ottis Toole, but still shocking in places.

Serial killer movies have become two a penny, it feels like at least a couple come out each year. This one, directed by Michael Feifer, just feels like old hat, like it is treading water to make a point that has been made a hundred times before. It doesn’t help that Henry Lee Lucas has already been covered in brilliantly grainy fashion previously with John McNaughton’s 1990 skin itcher Henry: Portrait OF A Serial Killer, which quite frankly is superior to this in every department. On the plus side are the performances of Antonio Sabato Jr. (Henry) and Kostas Sommer (Ottis), where the former is broody and twitchy, the latter hyper insane, but ultimately it achieves nothing. Kudos, however, is due for at least cleaving close to what facts of the case are known to be true. 4/10
