Real panasonic bulb that works perfectly
Although Amazon did not state clearly that this is an original Panasonic bulb, the one I received is. It was an exact replacement, in Panasonic packaging, and it works great. If you are curious whether or not replacing your bulb may help improve the brightness of your projector, here is some data. As always, your mileage may vary. I have read that bulbs have quite a variation in lifetime, etc.I have owned my Panasonic PT-AE900U projector for about 2 to 3 years. I use it in low-power mode 99% of the time. After this many years, I felt that the bulb was getting dimmer - but had no way to really tell for sure. Nevertheless, I decided to replace it, and am glad I did. In addition to extending the projector's future use, it is now significantly brighter. The projector had the original bulb and I had put about 1850 hours on it. Mostly from viewing about 5 days a week for an hour to 3 hours per night.First, I purchased a replacement bulb from Ebay to save about a hundred bucks, but I had to send it back, as it would not power up. (The bulb was not manufactured by Panasonic). Finally I broke down and paid for a real Panasonic bulb. After installing it this evening, I can state that the brightness has increased from about 170 lumens (old bulb) to about 500 lumens (new bulb). This was measured with an inexpensive, but reasonably accurate lux meter, using images of snow to provide a near-full white level, with zoom set to nearly full-wide angle, and producing a screen of about 100 inches diagonal or 2.84 square meters (the actual lux values were 62 before replacement and 180 after replacement). The projector was using the unit's preset "Video" mode for both before and after. This data seems to confirm what I had read about bulbs falling to half brightness when used for half lifetime (in this case, it had fallen to about 1/3 original brightness after being used for nearly 2/3 of expected lietime).Hopefully this is useful to someone - but I would advise you to collect other data and opinions before spending lots of bucks just for brightness improvement. I took the gamble and it paid off, but can't guarantee it will for you. But if you're just needing a new bulb because yours has burned out or is approaching the rated 3000 hour mark, this bulb is a good one :-)

Defective Lamp After 90 Days
I purchased this Panasonic Replacement Lamp for my Pt AE900U Projector on November 28, 2012. I didn't install it until January 2013 because I had time remaining on my original lamp. Recently the projector began regularly shutting down on start-up with the lamp trouble light blinking. Today I reinserted the original lamp which has about 50 hours left on it and there were no problems after repeated uses. While this replacement lamp is past its 90 day warrantee, I just sent a request to the seller asking they replace this defective lamp which has been very lightly used for only three months. I'll let you know how the company responds. As of now I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing this replacement lamp.Follow-up: I received an email from the TWD (the company that sells this lamp through Amazon) saying it would not replace the lamp as it had past it's warrantee day, not a surprise this was correct, but said that they would offer a discount if I bought another replacement lamp from them. Since they didn't mention the discount rate I wrote back and asked the discount percent, I never heard from them. I decided NOT TO BUY A REPLACEMENT THROUGH AMAZON since as far as I can tell they don't sell original Panasonic replacement lamps. Based on my experience THE NON-PANASONIC REPLACEMENT LAMP I BOUGHT FROM TDW IS JUNK AND EXPENSIVE JUNK AT THAT. I went to the Panasonic website a bought an original Panasonic replacement lamp through an authorized reseller B&H for $329 no tax, no shipping cost. The lamp from B&H came in a Panasonic box with a new filter. I plugged it in my machine and it worked perfectly. The B&H lamp original Panasonic replacement lamp is more expensive, but it works. The lamp from Amazon was cheaper but failed quickly. I love to pay less for a product but I want it to last as promised, in my experience this lamp does not. I would never buy a lamp from this company again, think twice before you do.

Lamp is probably fine, but no response from the seller
There seems to be a difference in opinion, looking at other reviews on this product, if it is OEM or not. Unless Panasonic has changed sources, this is not OEM. It installed fine however. I fired up the projector and all seemed fine, but after about 5 minutes, there was a smokey, burning smell. When I installed the lamp, I noticed a label stretched between the lamp bulb and the housing stating "Do not remove or you will void the warranty". Not wanting to disturb the warranty, I did not remove, but I was concerned that this paper-like label would burn up. Sure enough, that's what happened. I removed the lamp to look and it was crispy brown. I sent an email to the seller, asking about this issue, but received no response. I resent it, and still no response. It is interesting that on the sellers invoice, there is a statement that says not to give a bad review on the product and to contact the seller first to resolve any issues. Well, I tried, but no response. The good news is that the burning smell finally disappated after a few hours of use and all is OK. The lamp is very bright and the picture is definately much better now. So after about a month, I am happy with the lamp, but shudder to think what would happen if I had a problem that required the warranty to be used. Base on my exerience so far, I suspect that I would not get any response.

I wouldn't recommend this product
Not as bright as original, burning odour each time it's on I thought it would have worn off by now and sometimes it doesn't turn on the first attempt. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Not genuine Panasonic
Not genuine Panasonic as others have said. No filter included. Installed and works fine but unsure how long it will last. Nice price so happy.
