Alex EveningsWomen's Empire Waist Dress with Side Ruched Skirt and Jacket

I purchased this dress to wear to a charity event and received many compliments. It is beautiful as well as comfortable & well made. IMO it will hold up through lots of wear & it has a classic look that won't go out of style. I'm approximately 4'11" & 137 lbs. Size 12 petite fit well through the mid section, but as with almost everything it was too long & ran large from the waist up through the shoulders. Fit well through the bust & the jacket was perfect. I have a wonderful alterations person that cut about an inch off the shoulders and shortened the length. Alex Evening's gowns are beautiful and made with care.

This dress and jacket were stunning. Even your cleavage shows in the perfect amount. I'm 5'2" and w 1 inch heals and being chubby, the 14 petite was a perfect fit (1 size larger than my actual size). Dressy dresses should probably always be bought a size larger. This dress, however, left a circle of sparkles everywhere! It was actually embarrassing. All the men in their handsome black suits couldn't come near me. The bathroom sparkled, my husband's car sparkled, sparkles surrounded my chair, even my napkin sparkled. The sparkles added to my cleavage which was fun though. You'll like the dress if you're tinkerbell.

I like the look of the dress, but I didn't like the fitting. I had to fix it, because I needed it for a Ball.

Although the tag stated some glitter would fall, glitter fell like it was snowing. Very embarrassing to have glitter falling everywhere. Dress too pricey for that to happen .

dress is very well made and it hides any of your body's imperfections. Looks great!

I bought this for my daughters wedding and this was literally the very last dress I purchased, I absolutely loved everything about this dress, comfortable, flattering and the price was perfect!!Fit perfect and it had some stretch to it which was wonderful!!

and overweight, resulting in me having to buy a larger size which generally results in dresses or pants being too long. So the Petite length fit me well for being 5’1” , but needing the size 14P.The Empire Waist line is very flattering on those of us ladies with no waist and/or large bust lines. Also flattering is the bolero jacket for those of us that aren’t comfortable with our flabby arms!Two things that I did not like was the glitter that was constantly falling off the bolero jacket, in addition to the excess material hanging off to one side, (it’s an intentional design feature.) I felt it was too much, considering I am short and looking for something to make me look less heavy through the middle and hips.I did end up sending back because of those two concerns.

So glad that I ordered this dress. It is beautiful! There's lots of glitter on the top of the dress as well as the jacket. If you like to sparkle this is the dress for you! It is very comfortable and the perfect length for my 5'6" height. The side ruching adds a bit of elegance. It is cut a bit low at the neck so you will be showing a little cleavage, but not much. To help with the loss of glitter, spray lightly with hairspray. This dress is made in the USA so the fit is true to size.

Purchased this for our daughter's wedding. The dress is well made, fit beautifully with no alterations other than to take the shoulder straps up a bit as the scoop neckline was a bit low for my liking.
