Fiskars scissors are a staple at my house - these make my greeting cards look special
I've used Fiskars scissors for years - I have my mother's pinking shears that she used for over 20 years. So I knew I would get quality when I ordered these decorative scissors. I'm attaching a photo of a card I just finished - it might give you an idea of how to use these. I usually think of using decorative scissors on the bottom of the card - but it adds such a nice touch to use them lengthwise too. I used heavy card stock on the bottom and then lighter weight paper for the top of the card. There is one negative to these scissors - not enough for me to remove a star - but they seem short, causing me to stop and re-adjust my cut. I wish they were longer!

These are ok
Kind of crappy, but they do work. Not as neat an edge as I'd like

Works well for paper and post card paper stock
I use the edgers for creating my own post cards and thank you cards. I love this set of paper cutters. It is great to have such a nice variety of edges in this set, allows me to create a lot of unique cards. These Edgers are high quality and they are sharp. I always get a clean cut on the first attempt whether I cut thin paper or heavier card stock.I have small hands and they are comfortable to use, but the holes are smaller than regular size scissors, so if you have large hands that is something to keep in mind. The thumb opening is 3/4 of inch wide and 1 inch long.Overall, I am very pleased with the scissors and would recommend them.Ali Julia review

Okay, but only for edging lightweight paper
If you use these decorative scissors on 80 lb. card stock or paper of a lesser weight, you should be fine, but when I attempted to cut an edge on Petaloo - Glitter Paper Sheets - Red White Pink and Chocolate these scissors chewed the paper, but didn't cut an edge. If I tried to use extra pressure on the scissors, they locked up and wouldn't cut at all.Another not-so-great feature is the short length of the cutting blades on the Fiskars Paper Edgers. They will only cut 2.5" at a time, so you have to keep lining up blades to the cut edge, if you want to cut a longer length. The decorative-edge scissors that I use most often are Fiskars 98987097 Softgrip Pinking Fabric Shears , which are quite a bit more expensive, but they cut a longer edge, and you can use them on heavier paper or cloth. Unfortunately, there isn't a large variety of edge designs in this product line.
