Few bands typified the early 70s as much as Sweet. They first came to prominence dressed like hard rockers, but playing bubblegum pop - 'Co-Co', 'Wig Wam Bam' - before embracing the emerging glam rock movement and becoming regulars on Top Of The Pops. Smashes like 'Block Buster!' and 'Ballroom Blitz' are very fondly remembered by glam fans, and subsequent singles 'Teenage Rampage' and 'Hell Raiser' chased them up the charts. The band then moved towards an increasingly rocky sound and hit big with 'Fox On The Run' and 'Action'. In all Sweet had one chart topper and five number two singles.
