Q: Can the batteries be replaced? What type are needed?

Yes the batteries are replaceable

Q: Does this toy work without batteries?

To Light up It needs the batteries, which come already included. For the main function though it doesn't need.

Q: Is there a way to turn off the light on the wheel? It won't stop and battery will be dead by morning.

It should stop after a few seconds not spiraling around. If you face any issues, please contact us for a replacement.

Q: What sz battery do these take?

I'm sorry but I don't think we had to put in any batteries. I do know that they unwrapped/unpackaged the toys and played with them right away. The kids loved them so what I would do is still get them and read the package before you wrap. Hope this helps a little!
