Replacement AP02 US Keyboard Keycaps Keys,Full Set of US Replacement Keycaps QWERTY for MacBook Pro 13" / 15"/17" A1278 A1286 A1297 2008-2012 Year

I have a mid-2012 Macbook Pro that has the exact hinges shown in the pictures on the product page; however, despite what this product claims, it was manufactured incorrectly and thus they do not actually fit the hinges shown. Mind you, the hinges of the key I needed to replace wasn't faulty at all. The hooks on the original keycap broke at some point and made it impossible to stay on, which is how I know it isn't the fault of my hinges that these keycaps will not stay on. These replacement keycaps were made with the hooks on the backside of the keycap incorrectly placed, which doesn't allow it to align with the hooks on the original hinges.The attached picture will show you a comparison of the two. The red line shows you where the middle of the original left side hooks are set. The blue line shows you the middle of the Y-SPRING replacement cap. This subtle manufacturing error is what makes it impossible for it to fit correctly. In the end I needed to make modifications to my keycap with glue in order for it to fit decently since there are so few options when it comes to replacement keycaps for mid-2012 Macbook Pros like my own.

I can confirm that these were made with slightly misaligned hinges.
